First time visitors! My boyfriend had the Mediterranean chicken which came with 2 sides. He chose a baked potato and mac and cheese. I got the Pastitsio. We both really enjoyed our meals and were stuffed when we left. It was my boyfriend’s birthday and the waiter offered him a free dessert. He turned it down because he was full and couldnt eat anything else. The waiter brought champagne over for us and another couple we were with to celebrate. Wonderful food and service!

Amazing Greek food! Service was outstanding. We sat in the main dining room. Very warm and welcoming. The flavor was over the top and will definitely visit again in the near future

Made a last minute reservation on Black Friday; was less impressed than I thought I should be for the advertising/price. We both got pasta dishes – maybe we should have gone for some of the higher-end entrees but just weren’t really in the mood. Cocktails were OK, quite simple. I asked for a second, different cocktail, and the bar made me the exact same one I just had. However, they do have an extensive alcohol list. Server was lackluster, not much personality. My wife’s dish tasted good, but there was 1/2 cup of oil in it. Not an exaggeration. The food was completely saturated with oil so none of the flavors of the dish really came out. The pasta was floating in the oil. I had the Shrimp Mediterranean dish, and the fettucine was overcooked and quite mushy. The entire experience was pretty much Meh. I doubt I would try again, as there are so many better restaurants close by. *The one redeeming factor was the Saganaki appetizer. Fun and delicious – it was better than either of the meals*

This was our first time eating at Kefi (we’ve eaten downstairs at Yorgos before). I ordered the Astako Lobster Au Gratin and my husband got the Ribeye. Our food was incredible…I loved the cream sauce with my pasta and my husband’s steak was cooked to perfection. We shared a slice of limoncello cake which was also very delicious. Our waiter was personable and our food came out very quickly. We loved our experience and will definitely come back for more!

Reservation was for Kefi’s but due to an unexpected problem, we ate downstairs in Yorgos…no worries! The owner was very accommodating and allowed us to order from the Kefi menu. Cocktails were delightful and the Coquilles St. Jacques & Chilean Sea Bass were delicious! All of the staff were very friendly and professional. We finished with two free desserts compliments of the owner. We will absolutely return!

I was saddened to see that someone had a less than stellar review because I had a wonderful dinner here. I wanted to snap some pictures of the dishes, but we were at the outdoor patio and the sun was already setting. I didn’t want to disturb others with the flash. I would recommend this place in a heartbeat.
If you’ve never been here, it’s right in the middle of downtown Lancaster, PA. If you’re at Penn Square, just head north on Queen St. to the end of the block. The place is sectioned off into different areas. There’s Kefi which is the restaurant part, and Yorgo’s lounge which is the bar with some more casual fare. This review is for Kefi — the upstairs restaurant.
We decided to try this place now that our state has opened up limited dining after the coronavirus scare. After our trip to Athens and Santorini last year, a little taste of Greece was welcome. I didn’t make a reservation, but we got there early enough that we could get our name in for a later service. Everyone at the restaurant was very friendly and courteous. It’s obviously a family-run place. I’m making the assumption that the manager is the owner. One of the waiters said his mom made the specials. 🙂
The food definitely reminded me of Greece. In general, American food leaves out a lot of herbs and spices. I need something with flavor, and this food had it. The waiter recommended the patitsio, and it was delicious. My girlfriend had to have the moussaka and was not disappointed. Of course, we had to start off with some saganaki, and the manager even came out with it shouting, “Opa!” Each of us were also offered a complimentary shot of ouzo. I guess the manager was in a good mood, and I’ll surely take it!
With some (well, a little more than some) drinks thrown in, the total bill came out to $70.00 which really is great for what we got. A great meal, a nice rooftop spot downtown, some drinks, and a little bit of live saxophone music to boot.
