Check my picture. I paid $13 for the lunch special, and got quite a lot of food for what I paid for. Large portions. The sesame chicken was decent, but the meat had the right amount of fat and skin that made it delicious, and I only got white rice so I can’t comment too much on that, but it wasn’t soggy nor dry so it was very good. The egg flower soup was just okay, but the fact that it seemed like the owner and maybe her husband was running it was really impressive. Yes, the inside isn’t particularly impressive, and the soda machine only dispenses water and ice, but this is still my kind of place. I would rather go to a locally owned restaurant and spend an okay amount of money then I would to go to some chain with flair and just have mediocre food. The Korean owner admitted, and I can tell by the reviews and looking at them, that their Korean food is what they really specialize in. At some point I want to come back and try one of the bulgogi plates. I came on a Saturday with no one inside, so I can’t speak on the wait times nor the delivery. But I think that everyone should give them at least a chance. They owned a Japanese hibachi place at one point, and a fire burned it down, so they are trying to recover. I’m sure I’m not alone in thinking that they deserve another chance.

2 days ago I relocated to Spokane from Colorado.
I have been a fan of anything teriyaki for all my life and Kay’s Teriyaki Plus resides at the top of my list!
Sun is one of the kindest people I’ve met since moving here!
Coming from a larger city, I am pleasantly surprised with the quality and amount of food for the price! Only $13 for the lunch special! The teriyaki sauce tastes original and is made from scratch. The food here is more than worth the short wait!
I will be coming back here often and review each time, thank you Sun for the exceptional Chicken Teriyaki bowl!!

I have lived in Spokane Valley for 30 years, and I’ve driven past Kay’s Teriyaki for 30 years. Now that my son is playing hockey at Eagles Ice Arena, I decided to stop and try it. It was delicious! And it was eye appealing. Most items were about $17 to $20, but portions are large. We went with a big group and we were impressed by nearly everything. We ordered a tempura shrimp appetizer that was great, beef yakisoba, shrimp yakisoba, teriyaki chicken, honey walnut chicken, and phad Thai, and a General Tsao’s combo. Many meals came with egg flower soup and salad. The portions were large! My daughter and I split the beef yakisoba and we both left full. My wife took home half of the honey walnut chicken to eat for lunch the next day. There were vegetarian options available. I was further impressed to find out that it is connected to the prior Shogun establishment. I always enjoyed going there before it burned down. Although the interior of Kay’s was dated, and they could use some more kitchen help, we were very pleased with our first experience. I would recommend it to others.

We stopped in for our first time for an early lunch. The food is very well prepared. My spicy pork was very good. My wife had a teriyaki lunch combo that was not only delicious, it would have easily fed BOTH of us. I was super hungry and barely finished my spicy pork. It was a dinner sized portion. The owners understand the value of healthy portions, great quality ingredients and… possibly the most important; putting passion and effort into each preparation. The variety on the menu begs another trip very soon.

Had a great experience at Kay’s, I’ve had the Teriyaki chicken 3 times now! I’ve always wanted to try something else but I just can’t get away from this meal! It’s absolutely delicious, served with white rice, salad, and the best egg drop soup! Mmmm mm!! And sun is such a delight to talk to, she made sure our meal was perfect and if we needed more! Can’t wait to come back and try something else it all looks amazing! Thank you! And I will be back!

It’s not a flashy establishment, but it is spacious and clean. Food is made to order so be patient, it’s worth it. And I can’t express enough how happy I am, after 7 years in Spokane to have finally found a spot that has great sesame chicken! Now I know where to go when I get my cravings.

Ordered online, meal was $16 before tax. tipped 25%, waited 35 minutes, got to the restaurant and waited another 20 because it wasn’t done and then got about 3/4 of the servings. Would not go here. Will be overcharged, under served and left hungry.

Went to place order at the desk look back onto the cooking stove and a man was tossing a huge bowl of something into a vet and it had white residue on it. I wasn’t sure if it was lard or flour while I was ordering I kept watching he had a plastic pair of goggles and when he was done, emptying the huge metal pan, it was in and he was filthy and had white residue on him. We had already ordered, but it was really a turn off. There was an elderly lady making something and it looked like she was making the soup. Another lady took our order. I went to sit down at my table and it was so dirty. I started to wipe it off. We spent $50 on two orders both chicken took them home And my other half took two bites and said this chicken feel seems soft. It doesn’t seem right and the visual that I had myself I said to him I’m afraid to eat it even the rice because it was so dirty behind the counter we mutually decided to not eat it and threw everything out including the rice. I will never go there again. We were there once a couple years ago, but I would be afraid to eat anything prepared in that kitchen. I think the chicken was left sitting in that bowl, and when people started coming in at 5 o’clock, he threw it all into the cooker BIG NO FOR US.
