Good food and great service.
The drinks were fun. And the food was pretty good. I liked the hot bean dip the most. Tried the fish tacos for mains – they were decent – maybe missing a little bit of the flavors though.
Actually liked the Hummingbird Cake. Decent finish.

Wow, Kaya has become one of my favorites on the Strip!
The food is all delicious, their birria Cuban, grilled chicken sandwich, they’re delicious! Drinks were also great, with notes you could actually taste and fun unique flavors. Also the Kaya salad dressing is really great, honestly one of the best side salads I’ve ever had.
The service was also super fast, atmosphere is nice and moody, with fun decorations that fit the vibe of the menu. It’s also one of the better priced restaurants in the area with good portions too, really loved it and would definitely recommend!

Came here for a late lunch.
Servers were friendly and food came out quickly. Food was good and would come again. They had happy hour drinks, half price. Definitely recommend the fish tacos. There is paid parking near by.

Kaya in the Strip District is an absolute gem! From the moment you walk in, the vibe is warm, inviting, and full of energy. The menu is bursting with bold Caribbean flavors, and every dish we tried was packed with depth and deliciousness. You can tell the chefs really care about what they’re doing—everything tasted fresh, balanced, and unique.
Whether you’re going for a casual meal or a fun night out, Kaya hits the mark. The service was friendly and attentive, and the food? Simply unforgettable. If you’re in Pittsburgh and love vibrant, flavorful food, do yourself a favor and eat here. Highly recommend!

It was good. Next time, I might stick with appetizers and drinks. The conch fritters and the tropical guacamole were both delicious. The paella was fine, but not outstanding.

Great vibe! Ordered the conch- fritters for an appetizer! I got the Jamaican jerk chicken tacos (newly added to their menu) which great! Very smoky jerked chicken, balanced with the pineapple jalapeño salsa, with a fair amount of spice from the jalapeño. my friend got the Original Fried chicken and he said the chicken was very crispy and a bit thin with a lot of crunch. Regardless, we both would recommend all of these!
(I also ordered a coke and the waitress said that she had Mexican coke which is a win in my book!)

I do not understand how this place has a 4.5. It’s worthy of a 5! Kaya is one of my favorite spots in the Strip District. It is reliable and consistent. I typically visit on a weekday afternoon and there is usually the same male bartender who is always on point. However this review is prompted by my experience last night!!! I went out with a group for my friend’s birthday and we had an unforgettable and magical experience thanks to Dustin! From the moment we sat down we had waters on the table, drinks in before happy hour ended and our starters in with in under 10 minutes! Dustin not only provided stellar service but also had a fun and charismatic personality. We felt relaxed, comfortable, taken care of and extra special. He went above and beyond, creating an exceptional experience for us! The cocktails were amazing!! And as always the jerk wings were true perfection. I would eat those every day if I could.

The atmosphere is amazing. The decor is beautiful and I was feeling the music selection.
It was date night and Kaya set the mood off lovely with the jerk chicken wings (extra crispy) with creamy sauce on the side.
Random; I had a double shot of Baileys on ice and Bae had a peach margarita and she also fired on those wings with me
I had the jerk chicken tacos and Bae had that Maui Maui tacos 10/10
We will definitely be back SOON!!!!

The experience was not great. Our order was wrong which our waitress admitted was her mistake, but then seemed confused about how to proceed. I also had to ask for my water to be refilled in a non-busy restaurant. Now in fairness she did offer us a dessert for the mistake (which we declined), and discounted the meal to their credit. The corn (and ?conch) chowder was very black pepper forward. There were chunks of conch, but any of their subtle flavor was overpowered by pepper. The sweet potato fries were the best thing we got. The Cubano was okay. I’m a firm believer that the pickle makes a Cubano so I found the plating confusing. The sandwich is basically a flattened deli sandwich with sauce and pickle on the side . The pickles do have excellent dill flavor and crunch, and the mustard sauce elevates the sandwich to better than mediocre. The restaurant is beautiful.

We visited Pittsburgh for a week and were recommended this place in the strip district. My wife, 2 yo son and myself tried to walk in on a Sunday evening at 5:30 but they were all booked up so on busier days would definitely recommend a reservation. We came in the next day with a reservation but it was less busy on a monday so you probably don’t need the reservation on a Monday.
We are so glad we came back. The service was excellent and they were accommodating for our 2 yo. Atmosphere is great, servers and staff were friendly and quick with your orders. All the food we had was delicious. We had no complaints and would say this is a must try when you are in Pittsburgh and close to the strip district!
