After clearly mentioning in uber eats I want less oil, the paneer is swimming in oil. And the dal khitchdi was pretty oily too. I ordered coz I thought its comfort food, but I often hear from friends telling me they fell sick after eating here too. Unfortunate that they offer Dal khitchdi that is comforting, but not without dripping oil. Not worth a $35 meal definitely.
The good:
The Leela Lasun Bhurji (scrambled egg curry with green garlic) was really really good; probably the best thing I had. I would recommend anything from the green garlic menu. It was pungent and spicy (though they said it was medium–I tried to get them to make it spicier and they said no for that dish). Great dish!
The Peri Peri chicken sandwich was also really really good. It was kind of a grilled cheese sandwich with chicken and veg in it and some kind of cheesy-seeming sauce. Anyway, it was really good and worth trying.
the Tadka Dal-khichadi was basically a red dal; my friend who got it really liked it—though it was pretty heavy. I liked the chili oil and dried peppers on top–which I took and put in my dish (another consistent theme with this restaurant seems to be not making the food spicy).
The egg katori was fine; like masala-spiced deviled eggs covered in cold shredded cheese (the shredded cheese made an appearance in several dishes). This seems to be one of their “big hit” dishes.
The Confusing:
Australia Fry: A very thin tomato sauce with random chunks of hardboiled egg whites in the bottom….and LOTS of that cold white shredded cheese on top. It wasn’t great.
The Bad:
Volcano Biryani: this is supposed to be another signature dish and it was not great. I asked for 10/10 spicy and it was one of the least spicy dishes. It was also super rice-heavy and dominated more than any other dish by the cold shredded cheese. There was also an omelet hiding on the bottom.
In summary, some dishes were good; nothing except maybe the green garlic dish were worth coming back to eat. Also, I think the eating experience would be much better if they just cut the shredded cheese in half.
Worth noting – while I felt the chicken keema pav wasn’t as great as the Boil Tikka, there’s a reason it’s called EggMania and not ChickenMania after all Other reliably good items have been the surti gotala and the rajwadi coco to round out the great meal. And ALWAYS ASK FOR IT TO BE MADE IN BUTTER. Amul >
The ambiance was nice. Unfortunately, they don’t offer Wi-Fi. The restroom was clean. As is common with Indian street parking, it was difficult to find a spot.
Good food.
Very okay ambience, fast food types, with “some” seating space.
Street parking.
We ordered:
Egg Paplet – It was really good, served with toasted bread. We got Pav and roti also along with it.
Volcano Biryani – We were disappointed, it was very okay, needs improvement.
Sweet Lime Soda, Mango Lassi – Good, as expected.
Portion size is good for the price. The above is order is good for 2 people.
Rating – 4/5
Service – Fast, gets pretty busy in evening/night
Food- just perfect
Price- reasonable $-$$
Vibe- small place. I suggest take out if you got a large group.
Recommend- Absolutely, if you love Indian food and love to try new EGG and OMELETTE recipes with Indian Flavors.
The service is speedy, but it can get crowded in the evenings and at night, so plan accordingly. The food is delicious and reasonably priced, making it a great value. While the place is small, it’s perfect for takeout, especially if you’re dining with a large group.
If you or your friends are vegetarian, don’t worry; they have tasty Indian sabji and roti options. During our visit, we tried Angoori Fry, Anda Lahori, Pamplet, Peri Peri Sandwich, Paneer Lahori, and Buttermilk. Everything was tasty, but I highly recommend the Angoori Fry, and their buttermilk has that authentic Indian flavor that’s reminiscent of home.
In summary, I strongly recommend Eggmania. It’s a top-notch spot for egg enthusiasts and offers a delightful dining experience.
