I’ve tried omakase experiences in many different cities and states, and I never expected to find something this outstanding here.
Every single course was worth every penny. The quality, precision, and creativity of the sushi were exceptional, and the entire experience felt thoughtful and elevated from start to finish.
The service was absolutely amazing—attentive, professional, and warm without ever feeling overbearing. What made it even more special is that the chef, who is also the owner was incredibly kind, welcoming, and passionate about what he does. You can truly feel the care and pride behind every dish.
This omakase is not just a meal, it’s an experience. A true standout in Dallas and a must-try for anyone who appreciates high-level sushi.
KAWA Omakase Handroll Bar is operating at a serious level.
Every course felt intentional—from the pristine nigiri with perfectly balanced rice, to the handrolls layered with clean umami, texture, and just the right richness. The fish quality is unmistakable: glossy, fresh, and cut with precision. No heavy sauces masking flaws—everything stands on its own.
What really sets this place apart is the restraint and craftsmanship. Minimalist plating, thoughtful garnishes, and flavors that evolve bite by bite. Even the dessert course was light, elegant, and dialed in—ending the experience on a high note without feeling heavy.
Service is confident and knowledgeable, the bar setup is intimate, and watching each piece come together adds to the experience. This isn’t trendy sushi—it’s disciplined, high-end omakase done right.
If you appreciate technique, balance, and real attention to detail, this spot delivers. Easily one of the best sushi experiences in Dallas.
We met the owners and they were so welcoming and humble, and the entire team was incredibly knowledgeable. They explained the dry-aging process on the fish, and it ended up being some of the best we’ve ever tasted. Also — ask for the fresh wasabi from the actual root. They grate it right in front of you and it’s next-level.
We let the sushi chef choose everything for us and every bite was a hit. Started with smoked yellowtail and then had several sashimi-style pieces with unreal flavor. The owner/executive chef coming from Uchi and Nico in Southlake absolutely shows — and the space they designed is beautiful and unique.
We’ve officially found our new spot. Can’t wait to come back.
The chef was very attentive and professional, and it was amazing to watch his precise movements throughout the entire course.
The relaxed and chill atmosphere made the whole experience even more enjoyable.
We will definitely come back soon!
The fish was incredibly fresh, and the progression of courses had intention behind it—not just “here’s a bunch of bites.” The chef explained each piece with just enough detail to elevate the experience without dragging it out. Favorites for me were the A5 wagyu, the toro, and the uni—each one prepared in a way that made you stop mid-conversation because it was that good.
The vibe is intimate and elevated without being stuffy. Service was sharp, personable, and knew how to read the table. If you want a special night—anniversary, celebration, or just treating yourself—this is the kind of meal that sticks with you.
Pro tip: book ahead and sit at the counter. It’s the best seat in the house.I
