Cute little (small) kitsch restaurant with lots of Americana strewn about. We went for breakfast, which was decent but not great and pretty limited on menu. That said, comparatively inexpensive to surrounding towns’ restaurants. If you’re just looking for convenience when staying in Eagle Nest, it’ll do. Read a lot about lunch being amazing, so maybe try that, but breakfast was more or less adequate.

We got ice cream and coffee drinks. No food. The food and atmosphere looked good. My daughter enjoyed her ice cream but they got our coffee orders wrong and seemed annoyed to have to fix the mistake. They made the correct drinks, which were not good and refunded incorrect amount, but I was just done with dealing with them and left.

I really wanted to like a cute roadside diner but was left feeling dirty and paid than $100 for 5 of us to eat. Flies were terrible and inside the restaurant was dirty & fly traps in the window. We should have moved on…

We drove from Durango to Eagle Nest and didn’t stop for lunch. So at 3:00, we were starving. Are we ever glad we chose Kaw Liga’s!! Right after we sat down, the owner took our drink orders—offering root beer in an iced mug. So naturally we both said Yes please!

We had been in Cimarron Canyon but went to Eagle’s Nest to try to escape a summer storm. We enjoyed the ice cream at Kaw-Lija’s. It was nothing fancy, but definitely hit the spot during a lovely, beautiful trip to the enchanted circle. It was nice to sit outside under the trees, the town is just lovely and friendly in general! Staff at Kaw-Lija’s were very nice!
