Been getting sushi takeout here for the past few years, and it’s never disappointed! The fish tastes very fresh and they always get my order right. Every time I pick up the sushi the customer service is also amazing. When my order got quite large one time they even helped bring it to my car. Highly recommend!

The atmosphere is very Japanese and everything is just so in place, the paintings too. Makes me feel in the exact country. Lighting isn’t too dark or too bright and the style is so nice not like my Animal Crossing house full of random things. They ask you for your order quite quickly but that’s fine. Food is fresh and the rolls are good! Tempura has broccoli that actually has taste. The salted soybeans are salty which I like because I’m a salty food person. Anywho the sushi has a really rich and fresh taste so does all the foods! The miso soup tastes like every miso soup I’ve tasted and overall it’s a really good restaurant and I would go again especially for a peaceful dinner or something like that.

One of the best Japanese restaurants in the area! I didn’t have a chance to try too much sushi or sashimi, but their rolls and cooked food were all fantastic. We tried a small plate of torched sushi only and it was a little disappointing given the quality of everything else we ordered. Service was good and the price seemed very reasonable too.

First time eating at this restaurant. I had the sushi bento box which was okay. My friends had assorted sushi rolls and a veggie yaki udon which they enjoyed. The green tea is complimentary but it tasted like warmed up green water which was disappointing. I do like the atmosphere and the friendly servers. It’s nice for a family meal, with friends or a date night.

AMAZING!!! Everything was super delicious. The salmon was really fresh, Katsu chicken was the crisper I’ve ever had. The plating was amazing, sake cups with fish at the bottom was so cute, took sake consumption experience to a next level. Spicy salmon roll was spon on, not too spicy, not greazy, 5/5. If I could give them 6, I would.

Kato Sushi is truly an amazing gem!! Everything happens for a reason and zero regret with this place!
Our intention was to go for all you can eat, however the AYCE restaurant failed to mention about making a reservation when I called an hour in advance. We had 3 hungry teens in the car and did not want to wait for an hour. Just happened we pulled up to Kato Sushi parking lot to decide where to go for sushi. With York being in the red zone (2021), they took the precaution to have take out only. My husband went into the restaurant to check out the menu and the lady behind the desk was so kind and pleasant. She took the time to explain their menu, the special for lunch and other options base on our interest. Only took them approx 15 mins to prep our order! The freshness of the food was rejuvenating, the melt in your mouth experience and the right consistency was to our satisfaction. Price and quantity was decent and the quality was TOP NOTCH!! The delicious experience we had for lunch was unforgettable and made us craved for more in the evening!! Very glad we stumbled upon this place and definitely will be back!!

This place is well reviewed and I’ve heard many people call this a gem in Stouffville but I couldn’t love this place. The dishes with raw fish were not flavourful. The pan fried udon was the best dish out of everything we ordered and that was truly delicious. If I were rating this place based on the udon I would have given this a 4 stat rating. Portions were generous so it makes it a good value but I’ve had much higher quality sushi. The aburi sushi wasn’t that torched enough and it didn’t have that nice smoked flavour. I would perhaps come back here for cooked food.
