WOW! If you’re looking for a fabulous, fresh, delicious, homey restaurant, look no further. Kato Ramen blew my expectations right out of the water! Everything from the appetizers to the main courses were delicious. The Chashu Don is seriously amazing, bursting with flavor and the perfect combination of flavor. One of the few times a place is as good as advertised. The bao buns were more like a bao sandwich but was definitely a nice appetizer. The ramen was the real star, I had the featured duck shoyu ramen, let me tell you the ducks was among the best prepared duck I’ve ever had. The jammy egg, bok choy, bamboo shoots, broth and noodles pulled together a perfectly hearty bowl. Top 3 bowls I’ve ever had.

This place has such a warm and welcoming vibe, and the food is absolutely fantastic! It’s a cozy little spot with limited seating, so it can get a bit busy, but that just adds to the charm. Perfect for a quick, enjoyable lunch for two!

Absolutely must try. Best Ramen place in the city. Can customize your meal heavily to suit you. The rice bowls are great too.
Seating can be limited at times but the food comes out quick. I have never waited long with a party of 4 or less.
Atmosphere is such a friendly and authentic feeling location. The wait staff always do a great job and are very nice.

Amazingly authentic & fresh food and drinks! The menu mostly contains ramen but has some rice dishes and appetisers. It is very crowded and loud, but worth it for the food. The wait time may be long unless you go later or earlier in the day.

As a former waitress at a ramen shop for 5 years and whose mother used to make ramen noodles for restaurants, I can say that this place is legit. Shoyu and Tokotsu ramen are fabulous. The spicy miso is a bit too spicy for my liking and does not have as much miso flavor as I like in my miso ramen. My brother said that he likes a bit more fat in his tokotsu ramen. But overall the drive from Metro Detroit was worth it.
The restaurant is small and you get on the waiting list by writing your name on the door. Service is quick and friendly. The menu is small and deliberate. Excellent quality ingredients. They have beer/sake, soft drinks, but no hot green tea. In&out well within an hour so perfect for a lunch break as long as the lines are not long.
