I love a good pizza and/or sub once in a while, but I’m from New England and have generally found California’s versions of these things to be sub-par. I’ve been told by friends who own pizza places back east that’s it’s because of the water used for the dough; something about western water isn’t quite right. Gateway is the best place I’ve found out west though for pizza and subs. The subs are great, as good as any place in Boston or Philly, and the pizza comes close. Things like salads are really good too, very fresh ingredients and great dressings.

Good food for a good price. I got the pepperoni pizza and pizza bread. I felt like the pizza bread could have been cooked a bit longer, but other than that I will be coming back to dine in so I can check out the atmosphere and service.
