Update review a year later.
Katie Mae’s is one of the better places around if not the best. No frozen junk of the Sysco truck here. Good pizza, great cream of crab, fresh handmade burgers, the Katie Mae omelet is one of my favorites of the menu and the only place on the shore that does a true Shepards pie but only as a special : (
Clean Restaurant and friendly service is also a must and you’ll find that here at Katie Mae’s.

(Previous review) I love everything I’ve had at Katie Mae’s. The cream of crab is especially good.

I’ve been here a couple of times and I ordered something different each time whether I’m going for a burger and fries to pizza and wings this restaurant has really good food. I have liked everything I’ve had from here and plan on having even more they have to offer. Also the ice cream and milkshakes are great, sometimes I go there just for that. Can’t go wrong at this restaurant, the employees are also really courteous. After moving to Preston when me and my wife and food out Katie Mae’s is always my first option.

This is our third time ordering from Katie Mae’s and this is our third time having a bad experience. We’re new to the area and it is the only food place in town, so we wanted it to be good. The food has never been ready when they tell you, it’s always at least 30 minutes past the 15-20 they quote you on the phone. Then today when I got my pizza home, there was so much cheese and grease on it that you couldn’t even pick the slices up. The staff is always busy joking with their friends at the bar to properly take care of their other guests. The food is overpriced and mediocre at best. We have found it takes less time to drive to Federalsburg or Hurlock for food than to go to Katie Mae’s.

Food is not worth the price paid for it. I have a serious aversion to pickles, but everytime I specifically ask them not to add a pickle to my order, they lay it directly across my french fries causing my entire meal to smell and taste like pickles. Most of the staff I have dealt with are some of the most unfriendly people I have ever had to deal with in a restaurant setting. I would definitely suggest to not eat here if you want good service and good food.

We stopped in for lunch. We both ordered a pepperoni calzone. Oh wow! They both were piping hot and full of pepperoni, cheese and sauce! These are the best that we have ever had! Service and staff were both above par! We’ll be back on our next visit to Preston.

Service was horrible. Our waitress came to our table with no enthusiasm what so ever. Very drab, I can’t even tell you the waitress name as we were never introduced. The food is ok, prices a lil steep for breakfast. 2.50 I think it was for home fries. We tried it two times. We wont be going back. What keeps them afloat…they are the only “place to eat” in that area.

The steak calzone was very good and my wife had baked ziti and it was just as good. I was not expecting the size of the full calzone. I was very happy with the staff and food I will be back soon to try more from this small home town business in Preston, MD. See you soon.

I wanted to like katie maes really badly. Upon arrival there is no clear entrance and exit when we pulled in so while pulling in someone else was pulling out nearly causing an accident. When we finally came in it was hard to find a place to sit because almost every booth and table was full of trash and half eaten food from previous guests with flies buzzing around. When we were greeted by our waitress she seemed irritated with us the entire time no matter how nice we were. Never asked if we needed anything or how the food was just let us know she had other things to do. Very unfortunate because we are great tippers and love small town restaurants. Might return for ice cream and cream of crab soup TOGO but probably not.

I got a cheesesteak and it was literally grease on a sub roll. Absolutely fowl. Fries were cold and old. Could tell fryer oil hadn’t been changed in a while. Extremely over priced and the employees working were very unprofessional. I’ve given this place multiple chances and it fails me every time.

Enjoyable especially if not in a hurry. Breakfast seems to end a bit early, I hope that can be adjusted. Sad to see a potential customer walk out. Staff can be a bit unpredictable (moody- alloof) Food is primarily good, occasionally inconsistent but generally good. Yummy generous icecream selection if your needing a treat.
