We stopped for breakfast one morning here while visiting Ouray. They have plenty indoor and outdoor seating. Our server was prompt and we were seated immediately. We got the waffle with berries as they were out of blue berry pancakes and the red mountain skillet both of them were delicious! Highly recommended.

Kate’s Place is a wonderful local destination for breakfast and lunch! The new menu is well thought out with OG dishes that they are known for with addition of new vegetarian and gluten free options that it needed. I had the Red Mountain Skillet and my partner had the Eggs Benedict Florentine. They were both amazing! The service attentive and prompt! Will definitely recommend Kate’s Place if you are visiting the Ridgway / Ouray area!

My husband, son, son’s girlfriend and I stopped for breakfast as we were driving to Golden. My son and I had the Sneffels Skillet which was outstanding. My son’s girlfriend had the build your own omelet and my husband had the Red Mountain Skillet. All were wonderful. We all chose sourdough for our toast which I highly recommend.

Can’t give Kate’s any less than 5 stars all round as it’s a fantastic American breakfast experience, and all home cooked. We had to wait, but they have a waiting list system which worked well …. and it’s well worth the wait! Most of us had the Sneffel skillet, which was amazing. By all accounts the pancakes are great too. Hot chocolate to die for! Lovely staff and a bright and cheerful atmosphere make this a top spot in Ridgway. Keep up the great work!

Best breakfast ever?
I’m not a local, and I’ve eaten at a ton of breakfast restaurants, but this might be my favorite breakfast place ever. The food is absolutely delicious (definitely try the lemon ricotta pancakes!), good variety, and I think they must put crack in the breakfast potatoes because they are so addictive! The inside and outside seating areas are also cute, the patio is dog friendly, and the servers are very nice and attentive. I come here every time I’m in the area.

Such a fun mountain restaurant! Highly recommend whatever the chef’s special might be. Today it was stacked enchiladas topped with eggs, with a very tasty green chili… the chef’s version of a hangover breakfast, haha. You’ll love whatever you get here!

I cannot believe the high prices. I go back to John Wayne’s restaurant. He would roll over in his grave if he saw these prices. As recent as 7 years ago, you could buy a great breakfast for $10. What happened?

Adorable breakfast/lunch spot. Friendly service and our food came out fast. My only issue is the prices. Five dollars for a cup of coffee is outlandish… And I’ve worked in an ad for over 35 years. That would never fly there for a breakfast- lunch. I ordered the red Mountain skillet and it was absolutely delicious. I ordered it with egg whites because I try to be plant-based but will do egg whites on occasion, but I bet you it’s really good with a full over easy egg! I loved eating beats in such a different way with roasted sweet potatoes on the red onion, red peppers. Absolutely delicious and it was a big enough portion that I took half of that home! That bowl was $18 but I thought it was worth it.
My husband on the other hand ordered French toast. It was tasty for sure but was just French toast. There was no bacon or anything that came with that and that was $16. So for four pieces of French toast (2 slices of bread) and a cup of coffee, he paid $21! With tip and everything our breakfast came to over $60. That should not be. I do have to say I was glad to see so many vegetarian/vegan options on the menu and it was a nice place to stop as a tourist…once.
