So I must say this will be my last time ordering from Kate’s I go yesterday to get egusi and foo foo, usually it takes about 15 minutes this time it came out in 5 minutes, I get home for 27.00 my container should have been full, it wasn’t but the beef in it was dry old and tough, ive ordered 4 times from Kate follow her where ever she goes but I’m Done only once outta the 4 times has it been 27.00 worthy, if you don’t dine in your not going to get quality from Kate’s Kitchen. Been supporting Miss Kate since she was selling dinners out her home, also cool runnings when they would come in their food truck every Tuesday downtown south bend and sell out with in a couple hours, the truck did much better than the restaurant ( closed). Sad thing is Miss Kate 1/3/26 3pm or so they would take 27.00 for one meal and it was horrible, the meat should have been thrown away! But this is it for me just gotta wait til I go to Chicago to get egusi . As you see I didn’t even unwrap the other fufu ball

My fiancé moved to South Bend from Richmond Virginia , and whenever I come to visit, this is the only place we choose to eat. The staff are very nice, welcoming, and the food is always amazing. Highly recommended!

I first tried them at fusion fest a year ago! Loved their food came back again without knowing it was the same people food is still amazing!! Loved their flavors everything I ate definitely hit the spot The hospitality was amazing! Talked us through traditional way of eating African food!

Great experience at Kate’s Kitchen Authentic African Cuisine! I tried the restaurant when it was in South Bend, but they recently moved to Mishawaka, Indiana. New at trying fufu and it was delicious! I didn’t know what to expect, but they are providing some lovely and delicious meals here!
The service was good. Although the prices are kind of high, you get a good meal for your buck. The menu was explained well and I appreciate the kindness.
The atmosphere was okay, but again, I haven’t been to the new restaurant yet. A touch of African history or small decor would make the restaurant great! Nevertheless, really good African food at Kate’s Kitchen Authentic African Cuisine!

The wait was a little long but it was well worth the wait. Very nice staff and good authentic food. Pretty expensive. I wasn’t sure where to order but we dined in so we waited for service.

Kate was a delightful hostess and chef-owner. Surprisingly, one of the rituals associated with the meal is hand-washing, before and after the meal. This was done at the table with a warm pitcher of water. Really nifty ritual. The food was tasty and served on time. The establishment is exceptionally clean. The chicken in the chicken dish was a bit over cooked. It is a tad pricey for lunch, but for dinner it is just fine. Highly recommended.

Walked into a very peaceful, wonderfully designed dining area. Their front was clean and welcoming. With a warm welcome, we got our hands cleaned and ready for our delicious meal.
I 100% reccomend trying their food here, if anyone is worried about how spicy it is- its not. It’s actually mostly savory with a touch of sweet! Their fufu was wonderfully fluffy too!

A group of friends and I and it was such a great experience. Having never had African food, we were delighted by the imported tea and the food! Service was fantastic, our server was able to explain everything to us, shared their story, and recommended great meals.
We will definitely be back to try each of the other options!
