Nice little holes in the wall restaurant with great service, tasty food, and a quiet dining room. The ambiance was highlighted by instrumental covers of Disney songs. I had a French Kiss sushi roll which followed my Gyoza dumpling appetizer. Mama got the Teriyaki Chicken. Both meals were delicious.

This restaurant is absolutely phenominal, and at its price point, it might be the best sushi restaurant in the area. I’ve never seen such generous cuts of sashimi.
The fish also tastes extremely fresh.
I can see why they have an almost perfect rating.

Great service and a variety of choices. It has a good atmosphere that feels cozy, not crowded. I recommend the Fire Fire and Kenny rolls. Their nigiri offers a generous portion of fish, and minimal rice which is wonderful.

We’ve been going to Katana for many years and will continue to go for many more.

Service is always good and their food is always fresh and delicious regardless of whether you’re dining in or carrying out. We go here a least once a month.

My partner and I usually get the Katana special which offers a variety of variety of sashimi, nigiri and roll. I’ve also tried their other rolls before and they all are delicious!

We eat sushi fairly consistently and this one stands out as the best one close by. Sushi is very good and higher quality than most. Good appetizer options like the tuna tataki are worth a try. Servers are mostly the same person every visit and helps to know what service you will receive, which is good. I could go on and on about my personal preferences but it’s tough to go by as what people like for sushi varies widely. I would suggest this to anyone and I can’t say that about many sushi places I have been to.

The best sushi and service in the area hands down! My favorite rolls are French Kiss and Gadzilla. The Katana balls, miso soup and Tempura are divine. The matcha tea taste authentic. Everything is 10/10. They are so nice and attentive, customer service is top notch. The ambiance is great, soft classical music, tv on no sound, and plenty of parking. Highly recommend!

I recently visited this sushi restaurant after seeing it ranked 31st on Yelp, and I have to say, it absolutely lived up to the hype! The sushi was incredibly fresh, with no fishy odor at all, and the slices were thick and satisfying. The owner is not only friendly but also clearly hardworking, making sure everything runs smoothly.

What really stood out was the unique touch of using purple rice instead of the usual white rice, which added an interesting flavor and made the sushi even more memorable. The prices are very affordable for the quality of food you get, which is a huge plus. I’ll definitely be returning with my family soon! ❤️❤️

We got three special rolls for about $50, and they were all delicious! The Maryland, the Kenny and the Butterfly, listed in order of our favorites. Service was attentive and friendly. Can’t wait to go back and try more!

Amazing service, fantastic variety (usually 2 kinds of uni and cobia/hamachi kama). Decent prices for the exceptional food. This is the best sushi restaurant in Richmond. If you like a place that looks fancy, this isn’t that – but it’s the only downside to an amazing food experience.

The decor is a little dated but the best Japanese food places I have been to between the US and Japan have always been that way. I don’t know why. This place is no exception. The staff is warm, friendly and happy to help whenever you need. When my wife stole my ginger they noticed, asked if we wanted more and brought her a whole dish. We went on a random weekday for lunch and the staff made sure we left full and satisfied. Will be back 1000%
