The food was pretty good, but portions were small for the price. I came in over at least two hours before closing and was rushed to order and rushed to get out. I felt unwelcome and pressured.
The crab rangoons were fresh and crispy. The miso soup was good but small. The sushi was good but definitely not the best.
The hand rolls were beautiful, but the first bite of two of tuna had a huge piece of grizzle in it, and it was hard to bite through.
The dining room was long and open, and quite loud. I may return, but I really wasn’t impressed.

I’m new the Salisbury area, and boy this was such a major let down. I typically do not give 1 star reviews because I try to be respectful, even when I have negative interactions, it’s rare I stick to a 1 star review entirely. Firstly, the server (possibly the owner as well) was EXTREMELY rude &
patronizing. I was well aware of the up charge for subbing steak for filet mignon, to state “Are you sure you can pay for that?”, not “Are you sure about the substitution, the up charge is a little steep.” My partner’s substitutions were almost DOUBLE mine. That comment is insane work and definitely feels targeted— not sure if it is based on my race, my sex, my gender, etc., I’m not sure, truly. Even my partner was really taken aback by the remark and demeanor by the staff & for the food quality and results to be that bad on top of the hostile and unfriendly service— it makes total sense why you guys have the lowest sanitation rating you have right now (93.5) & why even during peak hours of business (saturday afternoon/evening), y’all were pretty much empty. If you no longer care about the business you run, give it to someone that does care and don’t take it out on your patrons and cooking staff. What sucked even further was watching everyone else have fairly friendly service from beginning to end & I can’t say I had the same experience. It was my first and only time dining here, and I can say with total and absolute confidence— I don’t plan to return, and neither does my partner. The only pro to the situation is that the food was hot when it came to the table.

Ordered a salmon skin roll, a spicy tuna roll, and another tuna roll with tuna ontop instead of flounder!
This establishment does not read the special instructions on orders. And they drench rolls in so much sauce you can’t taste the sushi for what it is.
When called to explain the situation and when ask for a refund the disrespectful worker would not assist.
By FAR THE WORST sushi restaurant in Salisbury.
Absolutely disgusting, and will not EVER come back. And recommend other to do the same.
Not worth the $$$.

Great food at a reasonable price and decent service, but something is amiss. The cook consistently omits onions from their mixed vegetable side (which specifically lists onions as an ingredient.) This has happened to us 5 times in a row. They always made it right when we complained. However, they should have prepared iit right the first time. Too many similar restaurants in the area to put up with this.

Ordered doordash and my husband was eating the food and bit down on something hard. He thought it was glass and spit it out and was was chunks of hard plastic. Absolutely disgusting.

Ordered online, was alerted when it was ready. Lady working the window was nice. I did go in to use the restroom and the place was dirty. The paper towel dispenser was out. Instead of putting a new roll in the dispenser, someone just put a roll on top of the dispenser. Now for the food review, it was horrible. The vegetables are undercooked, hard as a rock and too big. Take the time to dice veggies to bite size. Hardly any carrots, 2 mushrooms in the entire plate. The steak had a funny taste to it. The rice was very greasy. Last the spring rolls were burnt on the ends. The second time I’ve ate here and disappointed both times. Probably won’t give it a 3rd try.

Staff were very friendly and attentive. Unfortunately, the food was 50/50. I had a Xrab Mix salad and my usual go to a California roll. The salad was awesome (a little small, but…). I wanted to try something new and it did not disappoint. On the other hand, the sushi was bland . I mean no flavor, the wasabi was dry and bland as was the ginger dry with a little flavor. This place far exceeded my expectations!!! My family and I came for lunch, we had never been here before but we will definitely make it a habit. From the food to the service a ten across the board! Only draw back was the original booth we were seated at table was dirty and when I asked could she wipe it she merely grazed over it, over all great food and good service.

I have been coming to Katana pretty much since it opened. This last visit will likely be my last visit! We ordered the Ninja dinner for 2 and a combo plate with chicken and steak. I don’t know if it was new cooks or food suppliers but all of the meals were horrible! The food was cold and it looked like it was boiled rather than cooked on a grill. The steak was 50% grizzle and fat. The server was no help in resolving the issue as he never came to check on us. It’s rare that we don’t take home the leftovers but we literally left 80% of what we were served. We have noticed a decline in food quality on our last few visits but this poor quality was on a new level. No more!!! On a positive note the cashier did offer a discount and stated we weren’t the first complaint he had dealt with that day.
