First time at Katana Cocina Nikkei last night and it exceeded expectations! The food and drinks were outstanding — fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. The atmosphere had such a great vibe, stylish yet comfortable, making it perfect for a night out. Brandon, our server, was excellent. He was attentive, friendly, and gave fantastic recommendations that ended up being some of our favorite dishes. The service really elevated the whole experience. We ordered the Tuna Tartar, Sashimi, 3 fish Ceviche, Acevichado Roll, Tropical Roll and the Pork Belly on Wonton crisps. An extra shout out to the chefs! All were delicious!
Definitely looking forward to coming back and trying more of the menu!

Visiting the area and stumbled upon a hidden gem, located at the end of a strip mall. We were greeted by the smiling hostess who was standing with the door open, walking into this place – I was transported to another place. The decor is beautiful, stylish and chic.
We were quickly guiding to our table where Karyna, our wonderful, knowledgeable server, who greeted us and told us about the Japanese /Peruvian fusion the menu reflects.
We ordered the Pepino Roll and pork Gyozas with house hot saki and a Yuko lychee sake. All were delicious. The roll is something I will think about until I return again. lol. So good 10/10 (we did soy paper)
We ordered chicken Udon noodles and Pork Bao to take home. Both were good, through I felt the Bao could use more sauce, and veggies. The dough wasn’t sweet like I’d been used to , but this may be the fusion… nonetheless, it was good.
Had an ice tea which was very good too.

They do add gratuity, so keep that in mind, but extra tips would totally be justified , as they are on it!
My friend dropped his napkin, and the hostess had already picked it up and brought him a fresh one , before he even realized he dropped it.
Definitely check out this amazing spot!
I can’t wait to go back!

We chose Katana Cocina Nikkei for our anniversary dinner, and it was hands down one of the best dining experiences we’ve had in a long time. If I could give it more than 5 stars, I would—this place is a solid 10/10.

The Service
From the moment we arrived, the service was incredible. The staff was attentive, friendly, and made our celebration feel truly special without being overbearing. It’s rare to find hospitality this good.

The Food
Everything we ordered was absolutely delish. We decided to share a few plates to try the variety, and nothing disappointed:
• Shrimp Bao: Soft, fluffy buns with perfectly cooked shrimp. A must-order.
• Ceviche: Extremely fresh and flavorful. The “Leche de Tigre” was on point.
• Sushi Rolls: We ordered two different rolls, and the presentation and taste were both top-tier.
• Chocolate Cake: We ended the night with the chocolate cake, which was rich, decadent, and the perfect sweet finish to the meal.

The Verdict
It is so great to have a spot of this caliber right here in Weston. Whether for a special occasion like an anniversary or just a great night out, I highly recommend Katana. We will definitely be returning soon!

Great place. The food on point and the service, very good (thanks, Karina). We had every suggestion our server gave and it was a good experience. Definitely a place to check out if you are looking for a great Japanese-Peruvian fusion. I would say make a reservation since it does get busy & full.

Yet another fusion of two poorly executed cuisines. They take bad execution to the next level by combining classic simple dishes and making them complex. Think sashimi swimming in pureed bell peppers. Beautiful dishes ruined by taste. Every single thing we ordered was adversely affected by adding something that just did not match. We went with a very open mind as we really enjoyed these fusions when well executed. The restaurant décor is great, the dishes look very pretty. However, to continue with tradition the service is really bad, at best. Incredibly slow, unresponsive with no English speaking skills which is becoming the norm in South Florida. The one person who really stood out was the busser. This kid, dressed as a convict in orange jump suit due to Halloween, was ready for a fine dining establishment, Incredibly polite and effective. We had to call the hostess multiple times so she can call the waiter. Food pics are nice but I can’t recommend this place. At the end, we ordered a lomo saltado which came with undercooked and bland rice on the side and what felt like 3 to 4 ounces of beef. Incredibly expensive for portion size.
