We ordered the chicken and merguez tagines and they were so yummy! Some of the best Moroccan food I’ve had in the states 🙂 Naji (maybe spelling wrong) was also great company – ask him about his experience as head chefs! A great halal iftar spot for a Ramada night.

Came here on Thursday evening and there was no wait. It’s a small cozy corner cafe serving up authentic Moroccan food. I don’t know how I’ve missed this place the last 4 years I’ve been in the area.
We ordered the beet salad and chickpea vegetable tagine with couscous and the food came quickly. And wow. Both dishes were amazing.
The vegetable tagine was full of flavor, moist, and had 7 types of vegetables!!! It’s like a feast platter. And the beets had a refreshing flavor and were still slightly crispy.
Portion sizes are on the large side which means incredible value and that you may end up with leftovers. Delicious leftovers.
We ended up meeting the owner and he’s super chill. My only one piece of feedback is I wish the Moroccan music played a little more loudly since I love hearing music from other cultures. I heard it playing softly but heck, it sounds kind of cool.
Either way, will definitely be coming back.

Probably the best Moroccan food I’ve had. It’s a modest place with boastful and shinny food full of spices, sauces, scents, and flavors. If you’re looking for an intimate meal in a very homey traditional Moroccan place then this is for you. There will be Moroccan or Arabic music playing, you’ll hear the kitchen a bit, and Achraf Hakimi on the TV playing with Ez Abde, Bono, and company. Get the large mint tea and share with your table for a truer experience. Don’t come here in a hurry. Just laid back vibes.

Coming from a fellow moroccan, this place is a gem. Every dish was packed with flavor you can taste the tradition in every bite. The bastilla was incredible and the couscous was cooked perfectly. Great service, great vibes, and unforgettable food. Highly recommend.

Amazing food! Don’t let the location deter you. The food has great flavor and tastes fresh. The chicken bastilla was unlike anything I’ve ever had. The makouda sandwich was great with a fresh salad.
I wish I knew how generous the portions are. I left so full. The mint tea was tasty, but next time I would ask for less or no sugar because of how sweet the bastilla is. Would absolutely be back next time I’m in Portland.

Kasbah is such an excellent dining experience that it feels like a trip to Morocco without leaving Portland. The interior is decorated with a traditional colorful design inspired by Moroccan roots and creates a cozy and authentic atmosphere.
The food is hearty and has simple yet very delicious flavors. Tried the Moroccan Beet salad and a 7-vegetable tagine and both were so good! They offer quite a few meat options as well. The dishes also had a generous portion size.
The owner is friendly and attentive and explained how he makes some of the dishes. Overall a great place and we’ll definitely be back.

My sister and I visited Morocco years ago and have been looking for quality Moroccan food on the West Coast ever since. Finally found it by chance at Kasbah Moroccan Cafe in Portland, after trying numerous mediocre Moroccan restaurants in San Francisco, Vancouver BC, and our hometown of Seattle. The Moroccan mint tea was exactly as we remembered it in Marrakech, and I’d highly recommend the chicken tagine. Will definitely be back soon!

Best Moroccan food in the PNW. This is one of the places that puts all their focus on the food and building a relationship with their clients. I have had all their tagine and each are wonderful but the best in my mind are the kefta and lamb sausage. The only set back to the restaurant is that they give too much food. I have rarely left this restaurant with out a to go box and a full stomach.

Found this while exploring the Old Town area. This was a new experience for me as I never had food with this flavor profile. It was simply amazing in every way. Tried both the chicken and beef and could not decide which I liked more. The portions were plentiful and the service was very friendly. I look forward to going back and trying something new.
