What a delightful experience! From the moment we were greeted and seated until we left the building, this place was filled with charm, friendliness, family, and great food! It looks like your typical hole in the wall restaurant from the outside, but don’t be fooled. The food is delicious. My pancake was so large, there was barely enough room for the eggs and bacon—on my plate or in my belly. My husband and I were there with friends. One friend had fruit with her breakfast and it was fresh and sweet. Our other friend had biscuits which he said were incredibly soft and fluffy. My husband loved his omelette. For me, I have a very particular way I like my bacon and it was absolutely perfect! Somehow I missed this picture ♀️ I would highly recommend visiting this place in you live in or visit the Norfolk, VA area!

**Okay I thought my vibe was off because I am a Person of color but it was SPOT ON! Avoid it. Spend your Black Bucks elsewhere****Decent little spot. Parking is limited but I was able to find a good spot. I do have some mobility issues but it wasn’t an issue getting in there but I can see someone with maybe a wheelchair or walker having trouble with the steep incline in the street or the 2 stairs and narrow walkway. Inside I was “warmly” greeted an immediately should’ve left because it felt very fake, told to sit anywhere, I mentioned it was my first time and she brought my silverware/menu. Not a lot of people there, none that looked like me. Waitress was okay but not overly friendly-mentioning it was my first time I would’ve love to be WOW’d or offered some recommendations or something like that but reading some of the other reviews they do not love POC. I picked an item and I was glad she mentioned it was in a bowl so I switched to the same item on a plate. Food came not too long after and it was warm not hot-I didn’t have to blow it or anything. Home fries were seasoned well but greasy. Eggs were cooked the way I liked but not seasoned, waffle was okay, and the 2 chicken tenders were cooked well. I ate everything but half the waffle and the 2 chicken tenders. Waitress was great about giving me some “to go” syrup with my leftovers. Decor was beachy but I didn’t really look around because when I was about to leave people started coming in to be seated. Missed opportunity for the staff to mention the decor or the little knickknacks for sale, or follow up…how was your first time? We can’t wait for you to come back and try our famous…..”. *Unfortunately I didn’t get to enjoy my full tummy*. It all came back up within 1 hour. Not sure if it was too greasy or what. I didn’t eat what I brought home. Stomach still hurts.

This cute place has good food and decent prices. The French toast was on a brioche bread Which makes it better than most. If you get there between seven and nine, they have an early bird meals for under $10! .
We went on a Sunday around 11. We had to park across the street as there isn’t a lot of parking. The service Was good and the atmosphere was so cute.
I’ll definitely be back!

I love this place. Family operation. It’s a really awesome people. Great vibe and great food. They can bring the coffee to you or there’s usually a couple of gourmet coffee choices that you can refill yourself. Today I had the Philly bowl with ribeye, eggs, and a lot of other Delicious ingredients. I will get it the next time I’m here.

Had such a great breakfast here! The place gives off total beach vibes, laid-back, bright, and relaxing. The food was fresh and delicious, and everything came out quickly. The staff were super nice and friendly, making the whole experience even better. Definitely a perfect spot to start your morning by the beach.

Came in on Thursday morning August 7th along with 3 friends of mine for breakfast/brunch. Be aware parking is very limited behind the restaurant, we were excited to come in from reading all of the good reviews online but did not have the same experience.
Walking in, we were not greeted and I looked around for a host/hostess, a woman sitting at the bar pauses and goes “just 4 of you” and seats us, no hello or welcome in. Our server brought us waters and said she would come back to take our order. 15 minutes had past and she had not yet taken our order while our minds were made up quickly, during this time we saw her seat other tables and take their orders first and other staff walked right past us seeing we still had our menus.
Finally someone came from the bar to take our order, the food was pretty good and fresh, the waffle is quite dense so if you want something light and fluffy try the pancakes instead.
The whole time at the restaurant all of the other customers seemed to be getting better service and attended towards more than us which is great but not sure why we were not treated the same. Upon paying our bill and leaving, no one said anything to us on our way out, no bye have a good day or thank you, they just stared at us, I personally would not return nor my friends but hopefully others have a better experience.

The food was sooo good! Today I got to enjoy a chicken fried steak special with two eggs, rye bread/toast, and grits/fruit. Cute atmosphere with very cool local art available for purchase. Great service, I felt like a regular. They have a ton of options for sauce at the coffee bar!

Highly recommend this place. Park can be hard to find across the road is a grass lot.
From the time you walk in the atmosphere you can tell is good vibes. Service is warm and welcoming.
The food is delicious did I say delicious it truly is.
We are going to make another trip tomorrow of a 40 minute drive cause it is worth it.

I wanted to try Karla’s as use to drive by the restaurant all the time to and from work. It’s a local spot for me, so I had to give it a try. Me and My Boyfriend loved it. That staff is so sweet, they treat you like they know you. The food is amazing! And the atmosphere is a great representation of ocean view.
