So this review is more related to the service than the food (which is very good of course). Last week I ordered 5 hibachi meals for pickup via Grub Hub. I’m too lazy to call the restaurant I guess. When I arrived at Karaku to pickup my food, the door was locked and the lights were off. The restaurant was closed! Fortunately, the owner was actually inside and came to the door. He informed me they were not opening due to the snow that had come throughout the day, and I should cancel my order in Grub Hub. When I tried to cancel, I was denied because Grub Hub said my order was already marked as in-process by Karaku (which it clearly was not). I told the owner we could deal with it the next day as he was trying to leave. My wife and I returned to our car and pondered exactly what we were going to do at this point. Our kids were at home starving and so was I frankly. A minute later the owner knocked on my window and asked if we wanted him to cook the meals since we left empty handed. We politely refused as we did not want him to go through the trouble of firing up the kitchen just for us. He insisted on cooking our meals. Who does that? We were pleasantly shocked at just how willing he was to satisfy a customer. He let us inside and gave us something to drink, and fifteen minutes later our food was ready. I cannot say enough how kind he was in that moment. Customers for life for sure, thank you Karaku!!

It was great. Dumplings, sushi, curry chicken, Udon were all fantastic. Service was excellent as well. The server brought over some paper and pens for our kids to play with and made kids chopsticks for them as well.

3.8 so let’s make it a 5. Great selection of classic and chef inspired rolls. The sushi was very fresh. We had Yaki Udon and Hibchi noodles as well as gyoza. The udon noodles were cooked perfectly and sucked up all the juice as designed while the gyoza were perfectly crispy. We weren’t a fan of the sauce as it was a little too sweet but the quality was great. Definitely will be back!

We order frequently from Karaku because their sushi and bento boxes are delicious and generously sized. We love their sushi and sashimi for two platter ($50). The quality of the ingredients and the presentation are always excellent.
I only gave it 4 starts because personally I don’t like lettuce in rolls and they seem to use them in almost every roll we tried. Everything else is great!
