I love finding iconic places like this. It has been around since the 1960s and almost closed in 2024. Thank goodness they are still here. I had a Pork sub and my wife had the Tuna. Our orders were prepared quickly and were a nice size portion. My favorite topping was the banana peppers that really added to the taste. The building has seating inside and out and I counted nine parking spaces out front. I look foward to coming back to this establishment in the futre when I am in the neighborhood again. I would like to try some of their other offerings from the menu.

I really enjoyed my steak and cheese Philly — it was so good! I also tried their chicken nuggets, and they were tasty too. Friendly service, delicious food, and great vibes all around. I think I’ve found my new go-to spot whenever I’m in the area!

I ate the food even though it was not pleasant so due to getting some nourishment out of it do I hand Kappys a two. First and last visit there due to the way the manager accommodates the customers.

Food usually hits the spot but everything is made to order so you’re always waiting regardless of how busy it is or not. That said, it always comes out piping hot! (Sometimes too hot or too cooked) Has retro indoor/outdoor vibes and parking is pretty easy and convenient. I recommend the chicken Philly.

I was new in town and searching for a philly. So when I stumbled across this place and looked at the pictures and reviews , I thought, why not? 17.50 for a philly combo. I mean if the sandwich looks like the pictures I’m down! This sandwich is small, they give you a little bit of waffle fries and a huge drink. Give me a larger sandwich with more meat than veggies and helping of fries for that amount please. I could’ve gone to Five Guys for this price.

The bread was soft. It would have been nice if the fried mushrooms came with a dipping sauce. All in All I would go back.

Decades of History, But Not Quite the Same
This place has been part of the community for as long as I can remember, and I truly respect that it’s still family-owned. The staff is friendly, attentive, and clearly cares about their customers — service has always been a strong point here.
That said, the food just isn’t what it used to be. Back in the ’80s, the subs were bigger, more flavorful, and a great value. Now, the portions are smaller, the taste is a bit underwhelming, and the prices are much higher, I get it it is 2015. I spent $35 on two subs and two orders of fried mushrooms — quite a jump for what you get.
Still rooting for this local spot, but I do hope they revisit what made them so great in the first place.

What can I say that these pictures don’t already convey? Look at the gooey cheese, and can you see the steam? It was chilly & that sandwich was so hot – it was the perfect combo! I have to go back – something about a Hot Pastrami…. and Corn Dogs. I honestly can’t remember the last time I had a good corn dog.
Thank you Kappy’s- for serving up some darn good food! It’s just darn good…

Came here for lunch with my coworker I been trying to come for a few months been working in mainland for bunch of years and I have heard a lot it good things about this place so I decided to try it. I wish I could have try it many years early the service is outstanding very friendly staff, the food is amazing the cheese steak sub it literally melts in your mouth, the sweet potatoes fries were crispy and warm, the seasons potatoes were not over season or salty just enough season. Unfortunately they didn’t have onion rings, The only thing I really did not like was the strawberry milkshake it had a weird consistency and it had a metallic taste it was not very good. Other than that it was a wonderful

Went for the first time today and I wasn’t impressed, everything just seemed so greasy. My husband and I both got a Philly cheese steak and the meat didn’t taste like anything, it needed some seasoning and it was extremely oily. I got sweet potato frues and they tasted alright but same a bit soggy and oily. Service was fast and pretty basic, no complaints there.
