I’m a huge fan of Japanese home-style food. The chicken cutlet Curry is phenomenal and reminds me of a closed Japanese restaurant from Los Angeles that used to frequent. I’ve made it all the way to Japan and had the brown Curry there and this definitely compares. The restaurant is very family-style oriented and is run by a family out of Hawaii. They offer sushi for dinner, and they have a pretty comprehensive menu. Hits include the Loco Moco, chicken cutlet, Kalua Pig, tuna poke, and tons of other Japanese and Hawaiian food.

This place is fantastic. We only discovered it about a month ago and I’ve already been back 4 times. My coworker has probably been back 10 times since then. That should tell you how good the place is. A little pricy, but not overly so. We spent about $50 on two entrees, an appetizer and a dessert. Seems pretty on par with other local places.

I absolutely love this place. Being from Hawai’i it’s hard to find good authentic Hawaiian food. But this stuff is on point! Highly recommend for anyone! Great food chill environment. I come here all the time! Good Hawaiian grinds stay broke da mouth brah!

Saw that there was a restaurant in Anchorage owned by an Ohana from Hawaii, so we had to check em out. Overall, the pricing was fair and the food was ono. I had the teri chicken and teri beef mix. That along with the atmosphere and the music, I felt like I was at home. The saimin and Haupia were ono too!

The place was not busy yet food (Loco Moco) took nearly 25 minutes to come out. This was the third time that this meal has come out hardly even warm. The iced water tasted like dish soap. The prices on most meals have gone up yet again. Poke wasn’t ready and it was lunch time..
My previous visit the Kalua pork was almost inedible with how salty it was.
Bring back the Kansha from 3 years ago, reasonable prices, quick service, consistent flavors.. we all miss you.

Kansha use to be mine and my family favorite place but after today we will not return. This is the 3rd time we came here and put in a pick up order and it was wrong. This time I could tell the young lady who took my order and rang me up was new so I remained patient but my food took 45 minutes instead of 25 as promised. The food was horrible!!! I dont know if there is a new owner but everything we ordered was not good. We ordered the spicy poke which was not fresh, short rib which a rip off to only have one for $12, katsu chicken was overcooked, and the shrimp & spam fried rice taste like jambalaya. The only thing that taste good was the shaved ice! Very disappointing!

Great family owned and operated Hawaiian food restaurant. I had better laulaus and Mac salad at Kansha than restaurants back in Hawaii (born and raised there). Despite being listed as a Japanese restaurant, this is the place to go for authentic Hawaiian food. If you don’t know Hawaiian food, get the pilialoha special which is or favorite. Prices are cheap for the amount of food you get. The dining area is small, but the atmosphere is very friendly and inviting.

Good and fast service but iffy take out, I ordered take out and arrived about ten minutes after the call to get my food. As soon as I got into the car I tried a piece of the chicken katsu, oddly enough it was already soggy and on the cold side. So I went to try a bite of the musubi and that was on the cold side as well. Hoping for some salvation in the Mac salad I took a big bite of one of my favorite Hawaiian treats and all I could taste was garlic salt, as if I was licking a brick of it. Sad to say I won’t be going back, I was pretty excited to hear bout their weekend delivery system.

Kansha is one of my favorite places to eat when I’m in Anchorage. I recently tried the Fried Saimin and it is absolutely amazing! The atmosphere is calm and pleasant which makes me feel at home each time I come to eat, like I am back home in the islands. The nice variety of Hawaiian & Japanese dishes always pleases my palet, I am never disappointed when I come here. You have to try the deep fried musubis, they are dangerously yummy!
