Not the best hibachi in the Louisville area, but far from the worst.
I thought the sushi was pretty good. The hibachi wasn’t amazing but it wasn’t bad.
The dining room was a little too smoky. It was busy and there was a lot of cooking going on and the ventilation wasn’t up to the task.

Overall, a solid hibachi experience.
The ginger salad dressing is a bit soupy, but has a good strong ginger flavor.
The yum yum sauce is okay. It’s sweetened mayo and could use some more seasonings.
The Krazee Crab roll had a lot of imitation crab and the sauces and tempura added a nice crunch and spice.
The chicken and steak was a bit tough, but didn’t seem overcooked. The shrimp was perfect with the teriyaki sauce.

I went to Kansai for a birthday dinner and was extremely disappointed with the experience. It took about 10 minutes just to get our drinks, but that wasn’t even the biggest issue.
For almost our entire meal, two children—who we were later told were the owner’s kids—were on one side of the restaurant throwing a toy back and forth as hard as they could. This went on nonstop. At one point, the toy flew past our table and hit the wall. I was shocked that no one stepped in or asked them to stop, especially with customers trying to enjoy a meal that cost over $100.
We mentioned our concerns to our waitress, who apologized and explained that the kids “usually don’t do that when it’s this busy.” She did speak to the owner, and the kids finally stopped, but the owner never came over to apologize or acknowledge the situation at all.
Between the slow service, the chaotic environment, and the complete lack of professionalism from management, this was a very disappointing experience. I won’t be returning.

Went for my birthday it was very fun and a little crowded so I wasn’t able to get to a chef table but everything was still delicious and we enjoyed our time there even had chicken nuggets for my picky eaters I will be returning again

This place is amazing and my only complaint is that it took a while for the cooking to begin. My friends and I were seated at a hibachi grill and we sat for a half hour before the show began. We also had a reservation. The food was amazing though and once our chef arrived, the service was amazing. Our cups were never empty and they were very efficient. The chef was very kind and made our dinner very enjoyable. I highly recommend this!

The food and drinks were amazing, and the staff was super friendly. The sushi was fresh — you can tell they really care about quality. I tried the appetizer Tuna Tataki and Spicy Tuna Roll, both were delicious.
The hibachi was a blast! Our chef was hilarious and really made the whole experience fun. The steak and scallop were cooked perfectly, and the fried rice was yum! I could’ve made a meal out of just that!
The vibe of the place is awesome — clean, lively, and great for a night out with friends or family. Prices are fair for the amount and quality of food you get.
If you’re craving sushi or hibachi, this is definitely the place to go. Can’t wait to come back! They also have a party room, great for a bigger group or private events.

Me and my partner went here for the first time recently cause we were wanting Asian food but wanted to try a new resturaunt. We went a bit late so there was no wait and we got our table and food almost right away. The sushi was delicious and so was the dumplings and chicken katsu, which we shared. The food is a little bit pricey but the portion sizes are a nice big size so it makes sense. We reccomend it!

Extremely disappointed in tonight’s dinner! We chose this place based on the reviews as we were traveling through from out of town. The Chef was absolutely terrible and rude. Teasing kids at the table, not properly handling food when cooking and got other meats mixed together raw with cooked meat. I was definitely disappointed when I tried to say something to the waitress at the end and she basically blew it off. I do NOT recommend this place to anyone.

This was the first time my son and I have ate at Kansai Japanese Steskhouse. We came on a Sunday evening and it was pretty crowded, but we still got a table quickly. You have a choice to sit at a regular table or on the Hibachi side where they prepare the food in front of you. The food was fabulous, and I do mean everything was! Our waitress was amazing! There were a lot of families in there that night with children, but the atmosphere was still good. I live in Louisville, Kentucky and it did not take us long at all to get there. I ordered one dinner and had enough food for dinner and lunch the next day. The dressing that they put on the salads is incredible! We also put some of that dressing in our rice and it was delicious. I can’t wait to go back! ❤️
