This is not fresh fish – it smelled very fishy and tasted fishy. Center with the crabmeat was overly mushy. Rolls were inconsistently wrapped.
I had not eaten since yesterday so played roulette with these rolls. Hope I’m not sick in the next 24 hours.

We went in for lunch around 1pm and the place was empty except for one customer at the bar. Saw 4 pick up orders coming in. Sushi was okay. The Unagi was tender with no over powering sauce on top which is good. Place is clean.

I stop by right after Hot Yoga. It’s two doors down. The gentleman is super sweet and really helpful. Poor guy, I never know what I want! I ask him 20 questions about rolls! He has quite a selection.
They have a sushi bar that’s a descent size and a lot of seating. I usually order to go so I haven’t actually sat down and had a meal there. You can however see inside the kitchen when placing an order. It looks clean and well organized. You can smell them cooking teriyaki and quickly want to change your mind about your original order! I stuck to roll for diet purposes.
My order is ready in minutes and off I go! I strongly recommend the specials! I highly recommend you checking out this restaurant!

So I was charging my car at EVGo and got hungry. Then I saw this Kanpai Sushi right there I said perfect time to grab some sushi it should better be delicious because I’m so hungry! I tried their Shrimp Tempura Hand Roll and CA Hand Roll! Wallahh oh my goodness it was so orgasmic and fresh! Want to buy again more and will try their different dishes!!! Highly recommended ✨

Not good. Sushi rolls are huge, you can only eat half a roll and it crumbles awkwardly. The prices are outrageous. $16 for a chicken katsu? We got in at 3, didn’t get to order till 3:20.l, lunch pricing wouldnt be honored. Wouldn’t recommend this place.

I’ve always come to kampai sushi the only good tasting sushi that’s a close enough drive. But recently over the past year every dinner meal keeps getting messed up. The quality of the food has gone down, we keep receiving the edameme burnt. The sushi is now dry and their chicken and beef teriyaki doesn’t taste as good anymore. I ordered take out for my daughter’s birthday and they messed up every dish. Now it went from a good 10 rated sushi restaurant to a 1. 200 dollars worth of food that tasted horrible. When we complained to the waitresses they said they can’t help us because their manager is not around and they cant refund our money . Very low customer service very disappointed.

TLDR; don’t go here anymore. Quality is no longer same and now is bad.
Edit: I am guessing it is under new ownership? But it is no longer the same. Quality isn’t the same. Orders come out incorrect or strange sauces that have never been on a sushi roll on the menu is put on… (Like.. ranch. Literal ranch dressing. I don’t know if they grabbed the wrong bottle when making it? But there was no roll like that listed on the menu. I was given a totally random roll from what I ordered…so I think they gave me a mistake order and hoped I wouldnt notice since I was in a rush?? But I don’t know. It just didn’t look like the picture in the menu and didn’t have what was listed on the menu). Another time we got a baked scallop roll and the scallops were cold raw and uncooked and it made the whole family sick. So now after this 2nd time of a bad experience sadly we will have to find a new sushi place. I miss the old chef. His rolls and chef specials were really tasty.
amazing. service is excellent and quality of food is really amazing for the price. we tried the girlyman roll (chef creation so it’s random) and it was so good. i definitely recommend it. Also Papa San is super delicious too. New favourite sushi place
