An all-you-can-eat sushi spot with an izakaya-style interior with plenty of seating. There is a large menu included in the AYCE price. This includes certain appetizers, hot food and desserts in addition to the multiple rolls, nigiri and sashimi (sashimi is Fri-Sun).
✖️ I did not like the clear soup. Skip.
✅ Beef udon. Honestly, surprisingly good which I wasn’t expecting. I needed a break mid-meal from cold food
✖️ Limit on sashimi order per person
➖ Neutral on Takoyaki as they arrived lukewarm and tasted average.
Service was fast and our server check on us regularly.

This place is awesome! All you can eat sushi! They have many sushi options to choose from throughout their menu. The price is $20 per adult. They also have chicken nuggets and french fries for the kids if you bring them. I love that you are able to get 5 different things at a time instead of just one option. I really enjoy thr atmosphere here and I would definitely come back in the future! Recommend this place for all sushi lovers.

Where do I start? My wife and I try to get 1 date night a month and this time we were both craving sushi. Kanpai had been on our radar for awhile and we finally pulled the trigger. We did have a bit of a wait which is to be expected on a Saturday night in Fort Wayne but it was well worth the wait. So for starters we ordered a few rolls and appetizers. The food comes out quickly and doesn’t stop coming out. The fact you have probably 100 different choices when it comes to rolls, sides, hibachi, and more including desserts! Our waitress, Shanice (hopefully I spelled that right) was on top of it with refills, making sure that our food came out, and she was funny as well.
I 100% recommend KanPai and definitely will be going back!!!

My first visit was on 1/7/25
I was greeted immediately upon arrival near the place you pay as you walk out..
The place was very clean & inviting upon first glance of the new restaurant.
I was seated & ready to start ordering from the menu being seated in a booth at the corner near the kitchen entrance/exit.
It didn’t take long to be greeted by my server who also took my drink order.
I was also greeted by what I learned to be the owners/being brothers Jay & Kevin who also sat with & talked to me well after I had eaten & the lunch crowd had left. Jay asked me how my food was & my visit. What I thought of their restaurant.
I picked the $16.99 all you care to eat lunch special.
Great food, great value & a nice place i am now trying a second time with friends on 1/8/25.
The lunch special at $16.99 is to good to pass up, its a value for what you order/receive but you be the judge by trying the place out yourself.
UpDate: as of 7/15/25 KanPai Sushi has raised their lunch prices from $16.99 in Jan to $18.99 two months ago to today’s price of $20.99.
What was very disappointing when I arrived for lunch today. The price rose to $20.99 & the menu was shaved by 2/3rds of the previous menu.
The items i ordered the most is no longer on the menu. I got up without ordering & left.
I will not be back.
The Owners cut the menu by 2/3rds on the lunch menu for profitability while raising the price of lunch.
Profitability is only as good as you don’t lose customers because of that price hike &/or loss of menu items ordered.
At $20.99 for lunch AYCE plus add tax, tip & a beverage. You are at or over $30.00 for lunch which is not sustainable in Ft Wayne.
Now, you have to spend more advertising money to gain new customers to replenish the ones you’ve lost due to a price increase plus much smaller menu to choose from.

You should go to this place on aesthetic alone. It’s very cute, warm, inviting, and clean. When we went, they were packed. Yet the place was very clean. Rachel was our server and she was just fantastic. Extremely helpful with the menu and making sure her section never waited on any drinks. We did do the “all you can eat”. We found it completely worth it. And it was fantastic because we were able to try different things on the menu that we wouldn’t normally order and we ended up loving it. We didn’t dislike anything we ordered. They are also fantastic about encouraging you to order. Stopping by frequently to see if you want to put in another order. Other all you can eats your server disappears and you can’t get your orders in. We did have a slight wait for our food, but they had people all the way out the door. And I will be patient for amazing food. Not to mention their menu is massive! And they still did a great job getting the correct food out as timely as possible. We are 100% going back.

This is my new go to for sushi in the area. The quality is top notch. The service was absolutley great. The variety offered on the weekend unlimited sushi was amazing. Everything i tried was so good I couldn’t believe it was an an you can eat! Absolutley cannot say enough about how great this place is. If they continue to provide this level of service and quality of food everywhere else in town will soon be out of business. This place is THE BEST!

Recently, we had friends from out of town that came in for dinner and they were craving and all you can eat sushi option so we decided to head to the only one in Fort Wayne. I was surprised to see the price increase from when it first opened. Dinner buffet was $30.99. This meant that unfortunately my 12 year-old was also an adult price. I was surprised at the menu seem to be a little bit more simplified than when we first went there or at least the way that they laid out the menu on the plastic placard. Although there are many options for sushi, there are some very strange combinations that were not good tasting. One example would be the softshell crab roll. It had some sort of hard lettuce or green, leafy vegetable. This is not the way. It’s typically done. Although the food was lackluster based on the quality to price ratio, I found that the service was super friendly. Food came relatively quickly after ordering it. Each round a customer can order five different items. There seems to be no limit to it, which is nice. My wife who was jetlagged was able to order just a single roll and she did not really want to eat, which was nice that everybody at the table had to do that all you can eat option. In the end, my recent experience has been a slight disappointment, but others may still like the all you can eat option, which is lacking in Fort Wayne.

All I have to say wow. I was so impressed with my first visit to Kanpai sushi. I haven’t had such good endless sushi in a long Time. To start the lunch pricing is very affordable, 16.99 for endless sushi is beyond a great deal. The service was also very awesome. Our server took very good care of us and made sure that we had everything we needed at all times. The menu also contained many different types of sushi and there were a lot other non sushi items to give a try. Onto the most important part, the sushi. The sushi was very fresh and tasted great. It was fun being able to try so many different types. The sushi also came out at a very reasonable pace from when we ordered it. Be careful though because it’s really easy to overdo it and get too much. I highly recommend trying the fried ice cream if you have any space in your stomach left at the end. Overall, I highly recommend checking this place out, it’s definitely one of the best endless sushi restaurants in our area. I’ll definitely be back to visit in the future again.

SO GOOD! We arrived shortly after they opened on Saturday and were immediately seated. Our waitress, Rachel, was great. She explained the all u can eat, offered suggestions, and worked hard to make sure we had everything we needed. She said the general rule is to order no more than 5 things at once. The food was phenomenal! We had crab Rangoon and jalapeño poppers for our appetizer. The poppers were out of this world. Totally worth the trip just for those. We ordered their signature rolls: Indiana, Da Bomb, Caterpillar, Sweet Mango, Hot Jerry, and lobster king. They were all amazing and not small like other sushi restaurants serve you. We didn’t really care for the fried ice cream.
Overall, this was a great dining experience, the quality was great, and the price is unbeatable for what you get. We highly recommend and will be coming back!
