This was our first time at Kanpai of Tokyo, and it was an amazing experience from start to finish. The atmosphere was fun, welcoming, and perfect for a family celebration. The service was excellent—friendly, attentive, and made us feel comfortable right away.
The food was delicious and cooked perfectly, but the highlight was definitely the chef who cooked right in front of us. He was entertaining, engaging, and truly great at what he does. Everyone at the table had a great time watching and interacting with him.
We celebrated my husband’s birthday with our family, and Kanpai of Tokyo- Greenville made it extra special. It was a memorable night with great food, great service, and great energy. We will definitely be coming back!

We stopped to eat there on a whim and were glad we did! The food was great and the restaurant very clean. Our chef, San, and server, Elaine, were very professional, courteous, and accommodating. Bonus: it’s always fun to watch them cook. We will look forward to eating there again!

It’s been awhile since I’ve been here so we were pretty excited to be back. Reservations are highly recommended when you come here to secure your spot at a table. Waited about 10 mins once we arrived, got seated with a handful of others at our table, we did get our drinks somewhat quickly after sitting down, it was about a 30 minute wait from the time we sat down until our chef came to cook our food. I always enjoy the salad you get with the mustard dressing it’s really good, the show wasn’t as entertaining as it has been, still good and the food was good too, I ordered the hibachi veggies and rice, not sure if I’ll be returning.

I visited last night for my birthday after co-worker recommendation. I had the filet mignon, chicken,shrimp and scallops. I liked the fried rice as well. Everything was great. The only negative was the soup. It wasn’t the Miso I was expecting and was very bland. I recommend this place for anyone looking for an entertaining evening and excellent food.

When you come in, the establishment has a very unpleasant/alarming smell. However, we were there to celebrate a birthday. Appetizers; Mussels were overcooked, Calamari was perfect however the sauce that comes with it was very vinegary, Fried Oysters were delicious (5 Stars), Gyoza was also very flavorful; the Hot Honey Mustard for the salad was not pleasing to the pallet (sent back for ranch) & the meso soup had noodles (never had meso soup with noodles before & needed more garnish) Egg rolls were okay. Dinner was Ribeye/Scallops; Ribeye very thin and fatty but good in flavor; the scallops tasted a bit off but was seered perfectly, rice was crunchy and good with white sauce however vegetables could have been cooked a bit longer was not al dente. The restrooms however needs a lot of work (0 stars), and again, the smell of the establishment was almost a turn-off (0 stars), but we enjoyed ourselves for the occasion.

I never complain this is one of my favorite.but this evening I had a pick up order and it was disgusting onions were burnt and hid under the bottom therefore everything had a burnt taste,and my tempura shrimp were cold. Very disappointed.Havent been in a while and will not be returning.

Bummer, end of an era! Their excellent Happy Hour Sushi deals are gone and that includes favorite rolls that we had enjoyed for YEARS. What happened? The baked mussels are still delicious, but they cut the order down by half (4 pieces instead of 8) for the same price. They now charge premium sushi prices for subpar rolls. I’m writing this place off for good!

Went here with some friends yesterday to celebrate my birthday. This was my first time at Kanpai and it was great. Only thing was the chef didnt trim the fat or grissle off the steaks so there were quite a bit of chewy or inedible pieces. Didn’t really need reservations because there were pretty empty at 530 on a Sunday. The sushi had an odd pink color so I dont think the tuna was fresh fresh and when lifted up, there was a pink water color on the plate. Might stay away from the sushi next time but will definitely get the steak, shrimp and chicken again.
