This is a little gem of a sushi place. It is small, but doesn’t feel crowded and the service is impeccable. We were immediately seated and the service was on point and the interactions did not feel rushed.
While there we noticed two sets of regulars that the staff knew and there were smiles all around.
The sushi was good, the quality top notch and it was prepared nicely. Skilled chefs.
The ramen and edamame were just the way I liked it.
Overall, when we are in the area again, we will check it out.
Note, there is outdoor seating for when the weather is nicer, however street parking may be difficult to find (there is a lot around back which I believe can be used by restaurant patrons).

Really great sushi!!! The service was also super good, our waitress gave good recommendations and gave us an appetizer on the house. I would recommend this for any sushi lovers in Jersey. We walked in and was sat easily

Simple, well prepared and delicious sushi served with some of the freshest ingredients I’ve had in the US. I had a salmon roll, a tuna roll and a bowl of miso soup. The fish were both generously portioned and astoundingly fresh, and even the avocado seemed to be at a prak level of ripeness. Usually avocado is barely a hint in maki rolls, but in this one it shined while working well with the salmon. The soup was well balanced, not too salty, and pleasantly hot.

This is hands down my favorite sushi restaurant of all time. I come here every year as a special birthday treat and several times in between — and it never disappoints.
My favorite roll is the Crustacean Roll (I get it every single time), plus I always try a new roll from the menu. Everything is fresh, delicious, and made with so much care. I’ve truly never had a bad experience or a bad dish here.
The chefs are incredibly kind — they even cut up the yakisoba noodles for my two-year-old, who eats so fast I can barely keep up feeding him. The hostess and wait staff are just as wonderful: patient, welcoming, and genuinely nice.
Prices are very affordable and absolutely worth it. This place is a tradition for me, and I love it so much. Highly recommend!

We randomly found this place by searching for “sushi near me” on Google. Reviews were great so we decided to give it a try. Let’s just say, reviews were right. This place is great. Sushi was delicious, service was quick and good, we even got an extra roll as a gift because it was our first time here! This place has officially become one of our “to visit regularly” spots. Just a note: it was quite cold in there (they did have small heaters readily available though and I usually tend to be cold all the time lol, so others might find it fine temperature-wise). But just in case, bring a jacket if you’re going to be there when it’s cold outside.

Kanpachi Sushi is such an amazing place to eat! It is very small but what they lack in space, they make up for in delicious food and excellent service. The sushi was very fresh. We had a variety of items. My favorite part of the meal was the mini Godzilla roll. It was by far the tastiest thing I’ve eaten in a while. The staff is so friendly and the atmosphere is very peace. Overall, it’s a great place to go.

Hey everyone, I recently ordered Shrimp Shumai, Salmon Avocado Roll, and the Crustation Rolls from Kanpachi Sushi in Edison- everything was so fresh and delicious! I enjoy the taste, flavors, textures, and the care they put into their sushi! The owner is always pleasant and polite whenever I visit this establishment, in addition to, the restaurant is clean also nice to dine in! There is never a tremendous wait time and I believe their pricing is fair for the amount of food and freshness in each dish. My friends, colleagues, and myself will certainly return!

We did take-out, and service was fast and great. The sushi was very fresh, and the chopsticks they gave us were super sturdy! The Philadelphia roll and the spicy tuna roll were the best tasting I’ve had. So great to find good sushi nearby!
