WOW. Hands down the best food I’ve ever had.
Everything was cooked to perfection — juicy, flavorful meats, perfectly seasoned rice, and amazing sauces. You can taste the quality and care in every bite. The portions were generous and the presentation was on point.

Outstanding halal food! The smoked lamb, smoked chicken, and smoked beef were absolutely amazing—easily the best I’ve ever tried. The restaurant is spacious, cozy, and very welcoming, with easy parking, which is a big plus. Service was professional, friendly, and attentive. Great place to gather with friends or family. Kids friendly. Highly recommended and definitely worth a visit.

It’s rare to find a place that delivers both amazing food and outstanding customer service, but Kanoon truly does. On both visits, Wissam took care of us and provided exceptional service. I ordered the chicken platter with Boom Sauce, and it was excellent—the chicken was flavorful, the rice was perfectly cooked, and the sauce tied everything together beautifully. The brisket was also very well done, smoked nicely with a great depth of flavor without being too heavy or overly sauced, which I really appreciated.
Overall, the food had a great balance of flavors and was very enjoyable. The only area that fell short was dessert—the knafeh and baklava didn’t quite live up to the rest of the meal. That said, the savory dishes and overall experience were strong, and I would definitely return.

For months I kept hearing friends rave about Kanoon’s food and honestly thought it might be overhyped — until I visited. Within an hour my opinion completely changed.
We ordered the mixed kebab grill and the smoked beef ribs. The lamb was incredibly juicy and tender, the beef kebab was packed with flavor, and the chicken kebab was excellent. But the true show-stopper was the beef ribs — absolutely outstanding.
The service matched the quality of the food. I tried to place an additional takeout order after closing time, and they let me know they would need to restart the oven. I told them not to go through the trouble, but they insisted I wait a few minutes — and while I waited, they even brought me a complimentary baklava. I was not expecting that level of hospitality.
It’s been a long time since I’ve experienced such great food and genuinely thoughtful service at a restaurant. Kanoon exceeded every expectation. If you’re craving mouthwatering Middle Eastern food, give them a try. Highly recommended.

The hummus and chicken kabsa with rice are a must-try—OMG, super yum! The kunafa was one of the best I’ve ever had, absolutely to die for, and the cake was another delightful surprise. Wissam was incredibly attentive and made the experience even better. The meat was unbelievably juicy and tender. We loved the mixed grill, the chops, and especially the smoked ribs — they were literally melt-in-your-mouth.

Kanoon Smoked Meat Lovers is an absolute gem in Herndon! We came on a Friday night, and even though it was packed, the food came out quickly. We ordered the smoked short rib, and both my husband and my dad loved it. I had the smoked chicken with rice, which was incredibly flavorful, and even my picky-eating toddler devoured the chicken and rice.
The drinks were perfect — the fresh-squeezed carrot juice and mint lemonade weren’t overly sweet, which we really appreciated. I don’t think I’ve had bulgur wheat before, but it was delicious.
Our server, Rahma, did a great job explaining the dishes, and we actually went with her recommendations — she made the whole experience even better. We’ll definitely be back!
