This was one of the best dining experiences we’ve had in a long time, and Kanoon immediately became one of our top five favorite restaurants in the state of Indiana.
Every member of the staff was incredible. They immediately found us seating, which was impressive with how busy they were. Our server, Rayan, took plenty of time to explain the menu and suggest some of his favorites, and he checked in on us consistently to make sure we were doing all right and to refill drinks.
I strongly recommend getting their short ribs, and my wife loved their mixed grill. For both of them, definitely take them up on the honey drizzle because it takes it to the next level!

We had an amazing experience here and a huge part of that was thanks to Ahmad! From the moment we sat down, Ahmad provided absolutely phenomenal service. He was warm, welcoming, and incredibly attentive without ever being overbearing. He knew the menu inside and out, gave great recommendations, and made sure everything came out perfectly. You could tell he genuinely cared about our experience and wanted us to enjoy every part of our meal. Our food arrived promptly, and he checked in just the right amount to make sure we were happy. His positive attitude and professionalism really stood out and elevated the entire dining experience. If you’re dining here definitely ask for Ahmad — he’ll take great care of you. We’ll absolutely be back!

The restaurant is very well decorated and welcoming. Our server was super friendly, and explained their entire menu, and gave us honest opinions on food options which was appreciated. We started with mint lemonade was so refreshing. We got borak as an appetizer and it was delicious, cheese and meat filling. For the main we got the beef rib which was succulent and all the sauce options that came with it paired so nicely. And the Knafeh was really tasty and light.and had a fun cheese pull. I would really recommend stopping in here!! Great service and food.

The food itself was absolutely fabulous. Every dish was beautifully and artfully presented, and the flavors were unforgettable. The sauce that came with the sausage appetizer deserves a special mention…. hands down one of the best sauces I’ve ever had. So rich, balanced, and memorable.

This has to be some of the best food I’ve had in a long, long time. The portions were incredibly large. The food was incredibly tasty and everything was perfectly made. Even the food presentations were really good. I mean, even some of the most basic things like their house made lemon lemonade was so good. I would probably stop by sometime in the week just to grab lemonade. We tried multiple dishes like the lamb shoulder, short rib, steak, brisket, burger, and other things like that and overall every single thing was a 10 out of 10 their lentil soup was also very tasty. This is a family owned restaurant and you could see it in their service how the owner was walking around, making sure each and every table was fully satisfied. It’s amazing to support local businesses like this, and I hope that they thrive because they deserve it all! Thank you again from your Turkish customers!

We went to Kanoon Smoked Meat and Steakhouse today and we absolutely loved the experience! We got the lamb neck and smoked beef short rib. The meat was so tender and delicious! The mint lemonade was refreshing and for dessert the baklava with homemade ice cream was really good as well. We went on a Saturday around noon and it was a calm atmosphere not too busy. The customer service was great and the bathrooms were clean. Definitely will be recommending to my friends and family!

We have an ever growing list of Indy restaurants we want to try. But we don’t always feel like driving across town or taking a risk on a new place so often a nearby reliable spot wins out. But we are so glad we made the effort today to try Kanoons. Everything was beautiful (the decor, free parking nearby, the flavors and smells, the attentive and sweet young server). We tried 3 appetizers and 2 smoked meats, a dessert and several beverages. Hoosiers make everything too sweet for my taste so it was a relief to eat a drink a balanced meal. The labneh had a great tang along with the smooth olive oil, the sliced sausage appetizer had an awesome amount of garlic, the falafel even won over my antifalafel husband. That’s usually a me only dish but it was not dry at all (his usual complaint) and the hummus was smooth and tahini forward. Every little lettuce, pepper, and pickled veg tarnishing each plate added the acid needed. My fella ordered lamb shoulder and beef shank. The lamb shoulder and green sauce that came with it takes the “Best Bite” award. He opted for bulgar over rice which was also delicious. The mint lemonade was very mojito minus the booze, the chai was delightful and the turkish coffee was perfect. Out of principle we ordered baklava and expected a small square of Phyllo drenched in overly sweet honey and a hint of pistachio. Instead we encountered a pie sized slice of extra nutty baklava with enough sweet to take the edge off of the coffee but not the usual tooth melting sugar assault that passes for baklava at most places.

MashaAllah, this place was an amazing experience from start to finish. The presentation alone was stunning — from the flame to the vegetables, which was both dramatic and delicious. The meats were tender, flavorful, and clearly high quality. Everything tasted fresh and thoughtfully prepared, alḥamdulillāh. Our waiter Adam was top tier!
What really stood out was that the meat is zabiha halal, which gave us so much peace of mind while dining. It’s not easy to find places that take halal standards seriously and deliver on flavor, so this was truly appreciated. The rice and sides paired beautifully with the meats, and the portions were generous — perfect for sharing.

This place was absolutely amazing! We did what our waiter suggested ordering 2 items to share to get the full experience. We went with the Mixed Grill and Smoked Brisket angus beef. Each came with a side we did fries and rice. All was great but the brisket was absolutely delicious. We will definitely be back.

I ordered the smoked ribs and the smoked brisket and both came perfectly prepared and cooked to perfection. Loved the portions, the rice is also unbelievable, I find myself eating it by its self from how good it is. Service is outstanding and people are so sweet. I personally think this is top 3 best middle eastern restaurants in Indiana. I think if they just add some big grain salt on the side with all the meats it will make it even more delicious. But that’s just me I like salt on everything.
