If you like waiting at least a half hour to get burned, rubbery, substandard food, then this place is for you! We went out of our way to try this place, highly recommended by a friend. The only place to park was in front of the strip club next door, leading to an awkward conversation with my 15-yr-old son. The front door is a loading dock to an industrial entrance.
The order station was the best part of the experience that went downhill from there. Admittedly, there is a nice selection of food options. We only ordered three entrees. That averaged out to $29/person for takeout, which was shocking. We got butter chicken, lamb tikka masala, and malai lamb chops.
We sat and waited for at least 30 minutes before our food was ready. Nobody else was there to pickup, but we could hear they were so busy talking in back that they didn’t get started until several minutes after our order was entered.
When we finally got home to eat, we were surprised to find that the lamb chops, which cost $37.49 with tax and a way too generous tip of 15% for takeout, was the smallest portion. The chops were charred so badly that the bones were black and fell apart when picked up. The meat was so rubbery and overdone that they were almost hard to eat. One chop was so burned we couldn’t eat half of it. Even the sauce couldn’t hide pea sized bits of char breaking off. Lamb is naturally tender, so that was quite impressive how they managed to ruin it so badly.
The lamb tikka masala was way over salted and the texture of the meat was rubbery and way over cooked. The butter chicken was the best of the three, but the chicken was mealy, as though it had been sitting on the back burner all day and overcooked. We did get a tremendous amount of rice, however, which was seasoned and flavorful. It lasted way longer than the entrees.
They didn’t even bother to put napkins or utensils in our takeout bag and they are a takeout restaurant! Overall, eating here was a very disappointing experience.

Came here after seeing Instagram reviewer say it was one of their favorite spots in the city including footage falsely portraying this as a sit down restaurant made fresh. It is a to-go only restaurant. Based on the quality, I’m assuming that there are many paid reviewers spreading exaggerated, inflated reviews. The Naan was stiff and tasted old. Trader Joe’s microwave Naan tastes more fresh. The chai was terrible. The rice has no flavor. The butter chicken was ok. Go to any other place in Seattle for better Indian food.

Kanishka’s Seattle location is a takeout masterpiece! Don’t expect to dine in; this spot is designed purely for high-quality food to go. I used their kiosk for ordering and the process was incredibly efficient. The Butter Chicken and Garlic Naan are consistently delicious, and the portions are massive—easily enough for two meals. As one local regular told me while I was waiting for my bag: ‘I’ve tried every Indian spot in SoDo, and nothing hits like this. It’s the only place where the takeout actually stays piping hot until I get it home.’ The flavors are rich and authentic, making it my new favorite for a satisfying Indian meal in the city!

Tried the new pizza. Butter chicken and tikka chicken. Unique crust, very naan like in chew and flavor. The toppings were well distributed and generous. Overall quite good.

One of the best Indian food places in Seattle. Their naans and tandoori stuff is made in a tandoor. Portions are huge.

We recently catered food from Kanishka, and the experience was excellent. The food was delicious, flavorful, and well prepared. Everyone appreciated the taste, quality, and generous portions. The dishes were fresh and maintained great consistency, making the event a success.
The service over the call was also very pleasant. The staff member was polite, patient, and helpful while discussing the menu and taking the order. Everything was clearly explained, and the coordination was smooth and professional.

Have ordered from Kanishka a few times and am usually very happy with everything.

This time it wasn’t as great and the chefs special Angara Butter Chicken had too much oil and it had separated. Tried to mix it but it wouldn’t mix. Definitely not edible. I called and got a refund for it.

Added a photo.

I have ordered take out and delivery a few times now and the quality has been consistently good. My go-tos are dal tadka, soy chaap, paneer mughlai. Also recommend the carrot halwa! (seasonal)

Just ate at this establishment for the first time and wow, the food is stellar! I have had Indian food from around the world, and Kanishka is truly top notch. Multiple spice levels and a large number of menu items are available, the portions are huge and quite affordable for the amount of food given. Definitely some of the best Indian food that I’ve had.

I moved here in May and am SO relieved to finally have found this place. This will definitely be my go-to for Indian food moving forward.

Outstanding food and exceptional customer service! Even though one of the items we ordered was sold out, the staff went above and beyond by generously giving us extra food, which we truly appreciated. The food was absolutely delicious, the service was excellent, and we were treated with the utmost respect. This level of care and professionalism really stands out. Highly recommended to everyone!
