I’ve honestly lost count of how many times I’ve been to Kandela, and they’ve never disappointed! From the moment you walk in, you’re greeted by friendly staff and a beautiful ambiance. The drinks are amazing, the food is absolutely delicious, and I love the music and the overall atmosphere—it’s all definitely worth the price. If you’re in Queens and looking for good vibes, a chill atmosphere, and mouthwatering food and drinks, I highly recommend checking out Kandela.

They have a great happy hour selection for drinks & appetizers. The food is good with decent prices all around however the environment is a bit overwhelming. I visited on a Friday afternoon no wait for an table. But after an hour it quickly became busy being a small space. The dj played music so loud, I could barely hear/converse with my date sitting across from me. It felt like a club minus the hookah. Overall a nice setting but I’d probably order to go next time.

What a fabulous spot! The food was fresh and delicious. The service was very attentive. We came a Wednesday afternoon around 5ish and enjoyed their fabulous happy hour deals. Margaritas were amazing as were their chicken nachos to start. I had quesdillas al pastor, my husband had the steak burrito and we shared carnitas tacos. We over indulged but enjoyed every bite (& a bit to go). Would recommend to all who enjoy Mexican food and get ambiance.

I went here a few times with friends and family. The food is pretty good and the frozen coconut mango margaritas are delicious!! The staff is a little confused as to who is your waiter as many ppl come up to your table.
I had a one experience where we waited for a VERY loooong time for someone to come up and ask to take our order and it wasn’t crowded in there at all. That day 3-4 different ppl came up to our table, some to ask about taking our order (way later then other their colleagues) & some to check if we needed anything else/ bring the check.
When we watched the waiters to figure out why they were taking so long to come over & take our order they were just doing random unimportant things to make themselves look busy but were really doing nothing that they couldn’t come take the food order really quick (and we were in the middle of the floor directly in front of them). The music can get pretty loud & the seats by the window are really close to other ppl. And they don’t allow you to move to any table that you’d like for more comfortability even when it’s not crowded. Good food and drinks but staff organization and prioritizing needs a bit of work. Though the staff is friendly they aren’t attentive or considerate of your time. Prices are a bit high as well. But then again it’s like that all over NYC lol. ♀️

This place used to be okay. Now it’s just terrible. The music is always so loud you can’t have a conversation with anyone. Even the hostess was struggling to hear what I was trying to say. Then I ordered salmon & mash potatoes.. this is what I got. I paid $30 for a small piece of salmon and soup for mash potatoes. The taste of everything is -10. NEVER AGAIN. Do better.

I’ve been wanting to go to Kandela for a while. So for a birthday celebration we decided to try it out. The atmosphere is nice . We sat in booth area. The wait staff was pleasant but not as attentive as I would have liked. There were only a few other occupied tables .
Once we ordered food arrived rather quickly. Unfortunately most of our food wasn’t to our liking. We tried variety of appetizers and tacos. They were beautifully prepared but the pork was overcooked (dry and burnt) The shrimp and fish tacos were good. The Mexican corn was very good also.
As with everything, the items were pricey. I won’t be returning here unfortunately.
