Non-Houston (tourist) here. My group of guys went to Kamp last night to party.
Overall, good experience and positive vibes. The staff, bouncers and servers, were friendly, and our server/bottle girl was attentive and checked on us. We ate, drank, and the fellas had hookah too. I can vouch for the fried catfish platter and the wings as delicious.
Standard Houston club experience in the sense that mostly people stood around “vibing,” listening to the music, and singing a long. Compared to other clubs though, I did see more dancing and a lot of ass shaking.
The DJ was pretty good. I’d say I knew about 60% of the music, but I’m also not in my 20s (not plugged into the younger crowd’s music). Towards the end, the DJ played some pop songs, R&B, and rock, which was cool.
Entertainment wise, the venue brought out balloons at one point, which was also pretty cool.
To cover a few of the basics:
I didn’t see any noticeable dress code (saw people in shorts, sweats, hoodies, dress clothes, etc.).
Security and cops were present watching the scene.
Bottles are overpriced, but that’s standard for Houston clubs.
I believe the way the sections worked were you needed to spend a minimum amount of money, but that’s based on your number of people.
I’d good again.

Atmosphere was cool and laid-back. We went during happy hour and got to sample a few different items ; definitely coming back for the crab fingers and boudin balls. The wings were okay, though it was a surprise to get the whole wing instead of splits. Also tried the red beans and rice, fried shrimp, and Henny salmon which were all solid picks. Just make sure they ring in your happy hour items correctly!

We arrived for a birthday celebration on 11/9 when brunch was ending but right before our 4pm day party reservation. We were made to wait around inside while the outside was being prepped. At the bar I ordered the oxtail hash which was very good. The bartender that served us was attentive and gave good service. However my bill with tax and automatic service fee was just over $20 while the other ladies in my group of 5 that ordered one drink. Their bill was also the same. I dont know if I got a good price for my meal and their drinks were overpriced or not. Just seemed too high for a drink. We were sat by the host and had to request the heater get turned on. The staff struggled with the heater and ended up replacing it. Bre our server came introduced herself explained some things and gave us some time to browse the menu. While waiting another server approached our table and made it clear we were sat in the wrong spot and made us move. We had to ask again for the heater to be turned on and again the staff struggled. Took three staff members to finally get it working. We placed our orders and asked bre about changing the type of liquor in the tower. She said she would ask her manager but she was certain that it could be done without the upcharge. Well once the bill came it was an additional $50 added to the already $80 for a tower. One of the ladies does not eat leafy green vegetables so she ordered a substitute. The kitchen staff brought her the wrong plate twice. Frustrated she opted to not even take the food at all. We also ordered blue berry sheesha hookah. The ladies in my party are in the hookah business back in Florida and were very disappointed with the quality of the Sheesha. It was changed but the taste of the flavor was still poor. When the coals were placed it was also an over powering burnt taste. There is a minimum spend of $150 per table and $20 for parking. We could not see the stage or the screen from our table. People were rolling joints at the table in front of us and smoking, so I guess that’s allowed. The tower drink was very sweet and being that we are from Florida I’m assuming thats why the music didn’t give much to me. I would probably not revisit if I ever came back to Houston.

Yennisell was an amazing waitress at Kamp! She was very attentive the entire time and kept great communication with us, especially when our food was taking a little longer in the kitchen. She made sure we were updated and taken care of the whole time. Our bottles came out quickly, which kept the vibes going for our table.
Even with the rain today, we still had a great time and tons of fun thanks to her service and energy. We’ll definitely be booking with her directly next time. Highly recommend requesting Yennisell if you’re coming to Kamp!

The food was absolutely delicious! $20 to self park & $30 for valet. You’ll wait a while for service. They mingle with eachother & fratinize @ the table so long with others, you’ll wait 10 to 15 minutes to get somebody back to the table if U need something. I bought wings & needed an extra ranch, of course I had to get up & go to the bar to request it. The girl was texting on her phone. She told me the extra Ranch would be .75. I said ok, then she just decided to tell me “Go find your waitress” Lawd Hamersi. I never got the extra Ranch. Anyway, great place for young for the younger crowd. Have outdoor patio that was crunk too! Played the latest music, Montana 700, YTB Fat etc. U can’t go to an urban restaurant if U don’t want to practically be @ The Club! The food was goodizhell though, I cant deny that! Make sure U show up @ the right time for what you’re trying to eat. We got there & could only eat brunch, even though we should have been able to get what we wanted cause it said from 2 to 10pm…Either way, all we could have was the brunch menu.

Kamp Houston has a fun nightlife vibe and the music was good, but the experience was just okay overall. The menu was very limited, which was disappointing, especially for a night out. It was also pretty cold, and despite having reservations, we still had to wait outside for a while before being let in. The atmosphere has potential, but the wait and lack of food options took away from what could have been a much better experience.

My niece told us about this place. We were about to have dinner with our uncles next door and the music drew us their front door. We stopped in to have one drink. The DJ had the outdoor area in good spirits. The drinks and bar staff were good. We didn’t have food. Have to stop back in again to get a full experience.

Absolutely terrible experience. We had a section booked for $500. They delayed the opening of Kamp due to the weather. And didn’t even call to notify we got lucky and saw the email. When we called they did not offer an additional hour to cover the one we lost, nor did they offer a discount or refund. They also said they were going to add extra to the gratuity due to the weather. Which makes no sense at all. They had us waiting outside in the rain to get in an hour after they said when the new opening time would be. And the “section” was really just a regular restaurant booth. So I don’t really see the value in the price. Additionally we asked the manager if we could get moved to a better area or potentially get a refund. And explained the issues we had but she got defensive as if we were personally blaming her. No customer service at all so we ended up leaving. I do not recommend this establishment. It is a tourist trap and pretty much a scam.
