Probably the best Japanese in Brussels and for many kilometres around. The food and presentation is stunning, the service is what you would expect in Tokyo, impeccable. And it might be cheaper to fly to Tokyo for dinner, I exaggerate a little. Highly recommended, will definitely go again.

Had a lovely experience dining here. We chose the sushi menu and the fish was very fresh, particularly enjoyed the chef’s specialty. Service was excellent, atmosphere was quite intimate and the staff knowledgeable.

Amazing food, great service, reservation is a must have. Would highly recommend and definitely coming back.
Even without knowing it upfront, you feel directly that you are in a 1 star restaurant. The service is impeccable and the quality of the food and balances in tastes are remarkable.
We choose the menu with starter, fish, meat and dessert; and were more then full filled.
Would recommend to book a table at the counter, to see the kitchen staff make every dish.
Next time, I will also try the sushi – it looked all amazing!

Had dinner here recently, and went for the full course menu. As a Japanese and knowing this was a Michelin star restaurant I had certain expectations dining here. The price quality ratio was quite poor – while taste was authentic and the chefs Japanese, many of the courses that were served were more akin to more casual, home-style inspired Japanese dishes as opposed to fine dining. Maybe this was the concept of the restaurant, but charging €140 per person for this is too much. The nigiri sushi were also very small and sashimi sliced very thinly. For those familiar with Japanese food this may disappoint, but if you’re not then you may enjoy this (and the Michelin-star price).

This is a very chic restaurant and difficult to reserve. The chef and the main waitress are authentic Japanese people, which is quite rare among Japanese restaurants in Europe. The food is fresh and creative, yet the portion is not that big, which is quite expectable in a Japanese restaurant. The service is very good, too. Anyway it is a good place to be when you want to impress your business client.

Very memorable experience ! We went for lunch and ask to be seated at the counter (closer to the action). We definitely travel through the Japanese culinary universe. Each dish was very surprising and tasty. The sashimi was the most amazing for me, I had never tasted a fish like this before. The combination with the sake was also very surprising, very much like a wine pairing but in its own way. Very happy with my experience there !

Great experience, super friendly staff and good food. They make you feel welcome, we liked that the ambiance was not as uptight as other restaurants that are a little more fancy. We were happy! The only thing we disliked about the tasting menu, is that the sashimi and the sushi was the exact same fish. Some variation in this might be preferred, at least for us.

It’s incredibly disappointing to have this experience with Restaurant Kamo, especially considering its Michelin star and reputation.
Their reservation system is clearly unreliable, something the staff openly admitted is a known issue. Despite being aware of the problem, no meaningful solution was offered. We were told to call on the day to see if we could be squeezed in, which we did, only to be told there was no availability. That was the extent of the assistance.
What’s most concerning is the complete lack of accountability or effort to resolve the situation. For a restaurant operating at this level, a malfunctioning booking system combined with indifferent customer service is simply unacceptable. A Michelin star should reflect excellence not only in the kitchen, but in the overall guest experience, and this fell far short.
Unfortunately, this experience showed a disappointing lack of professionalism and care.

Good but too expensive for what you get.
We had the Grand Menu and most of it was excellent, however a few points were disappointing.
The otoro on the sashimi plate was sinewy. This should really not have happened.
While it tasted great the steak was a little too chewy.
The sushi was mostly the same fish as the shashimi plate and the nigiri are too small. It felt like they were cheaping out by cutting the fish too thin.
I realize this is nitpicking but when you pay €300 for a dinner for two I expect no compromise and have had better elsewhere. You might even leave a little hungry after 7 courses…

Last year today I was taken there by my partner as a BD gift. The whole experience was really great organized – planned and executed to perfection. We had a very pleasant (I believe) 5 course meal paired with some nice wine. The ambience was amazing, the service was impeccable, food was delicious and cooked and presented with care. I believe there’s also a 7 course menu, which I’d definitely love to try someday. The only not that good thing we’ve experienced there was the food smell that was all over us after we left but that’s something understandable, as there’s an open kitchen and the chef is cooking in front of you, which is also so very nice and a reason to go there on its own. All in all, I highly recommend the place! Probably it would be better to book well in advance as it’s not that big and they only have a few tables.
