Went with a group of 8 a few times during our trip. Initially grabbing dinner, then secondly for their all day happy hours Wednesday + Friday. Was impressed at how fast we were sat, but the service was relatively slow once at the table. Mahi mahi dish was excellent, lavaflow really enjoyed. Loaded nachos and shrimp ceviche were good fillers for the happy hour but wouldn’t order again. Mai tai’s get the job done for a happy hour but you’ll primarily taste the alcohol.

Stopped here for lunch during a tour. The food was excellent and the service was prompt and friendly. Mahi mahi was the dominant fish on the menu, and I went with the Blackened Ahi with Shrimp. It was excellent, with the shrimp also stuffed with a bit of crab. If you like lychees, several different lychee inspired drinks to wash it all down!

Service was good, environment was great. The wait was long and not very organized but it was alright. Everyone enjoyed their food. Good happy hour options from 2-3!
Didn’t love having to pay extra for fries. We also didn’t like not being informed of the gratuity, then being asked for an additional tip, so watch your bill!

Great restaurant in Hanalei. Everything on the menu sounded delicious and everyone in our party had a tough time deciding what to try. All of the food was amazing, especially the blackened ahi tuna, fish and fries, shrimp ceviche, and stuffed katsu chicken. Our server was attentive and friendly.

We waited about 5 minutes for a table. We ordered and our food came very quickly. I got the coconut shrimp dinner plate with rice and asparagus. Cooked perfectly Al dente. Everything was delicious. Our server was Ziggy and he was awesome as well. Great service. We ate out on the patio which was fun. The bathrooms were clean.

– garlic butter shrimp pasta 8/10: solid, but nothing special. creamy marinara sauce with melty cheese – pretty good. shrimp was well cooked, good portions. garlic bread mid but tasted good dipped in the sauce!

We had a wonderful dinner and drinks at Kalypso Island Bar & Grill in Hanalei. The Mai Tai’s were strong and tasty—definitely worth enjoying, but sip carefully! I ordered the blackened fish and shrimp, which was beautifully crafted and absolutely delicious with the passion cilantro sauce. Our nephew enjoyed the Pipikaula taco trio, another fantastic plate. Great food, good drinks, enjoyable service and a fun Hanalei atmosphere.

After a disappointing meal at Opakapaka the night before, we decided to give Kalypso in Hanalei a try. We kept our expectations low, ordering the seafood pasta and the tropical Waldorf salad for our early dinner. To our surprise, both dishes exceeded expectations.
The seafood pasta was impressive—plump mussels, jumbo shrimp, and generous portions of mahi-mahi and calamari. The flavors leaned mild, but a touch of salt and pepper easily brought everything together.
The tropical Waldorf salad was just as memorable, with fresh pineapple, blueberries, strawberries, and crumbles of blue cheese creating a refreshing balance of sweet and savory. Both plates were hearty enough to share, making them perfect for two.
Kalypso turned out to be a delightful find in Hanalei—I’d definitely recommend it.

Pretty good bar type food, and glad to eat at an actual restaurant, not a food truck! The nachos were great, very big and with plentiful toppings. The huli huli chicken was flavorful. The onion rings were a little bland but had a good sauce and they gave us a good amount of them.
