A cross between a sloppy key west restaurant and a biker bar.
Service was okay. Our waitress did not impress. No smiles, no warmth, not attentive. Other waitress stepped up and got us condiments.
The food was surprisingly decent. I had the fish sandwich. The menu didnt say what kind of fish. It was cat. Not my preferred fish, but they prepared it well. Giving it a B
Wife had the fish and chips. It was grouper. It was aight. I give it a C+
Kids had nakedness wings and fries.
Second time here, not our 1st choice, but the restaurant we wanted was closed I n Sunday.

We came here for lunch the other day, and the only good thing about this place is the view. Service was terrible. Only 1 waitress on the floor, who was slow or inexperienced and could not handle the lunch rush. Took our order without writing it down and messed up my order. Had to correct the order and wait longer. Food was very bland with no salt or pepper on the table. Didn’t want to waste any more time – waiting and asking for salt & pepper. Menu does not have any drink prices. Lastly, we were charged and required to pay their credit card processing fee, which we were not informed of the extra surcharge – and we believe the credit card processing fee is a business expense. We will not be returning.

My husband and I actually met here 10 years ago, I used to work here and we returned last week around 6pm for a date night. You can’t beat the view and the place looks amazing!! It was obviously a seat yourself situation, we’d noticed the bartender notice us so we took our time, picked our table (took a bit because they’re all covered in bird poop) and then we waited … with no, hi be right over, or anything, she just chilled at the end of the bar finishing her conversation. Then we were “greeted” with the bartender saying “menus” as the she placed them and silverware on the table. Only after she started walking away did she remember… turn around and say “did you want something to drink?” Unfortunately, this is the kind of service we expect when we come here so we were prepared with our order and tried to laugh off the terrible service. The fried pickles were overflowing out of the basket and paired with the world’s smallest ranch … they were awesome but after about 6 we were out of ranch and our server didn’t come by again until she had our food so we could ask for more. Our food was missing items and looked completely ridiculous with a huge piece of fish on a hotdog bun …but it was all very tasty. Also worth noting, the music being played by the bartender did NOT correspond with the bar crowd. It was so awkward and seeing that it was her choosing it was very cringe. When she dropped the check she had her phone in her hand and was using it … didn’t say thank you. Didn’t even make eye contact, never mind the fact that I couldn’t get another drink because she didn’t return to the table, or that both of our dinner plates were missing food. I couldn’t tell you her name as I was never told but she really should consider a new career path seeing as how she couldn’t be further from a people person. So the atmosphere would be awesome with crowd appropriate music and the food is delicious but this service was absolutely the worst I’ve ever had and for that we can no longer support this business.

I’d been told service there was slow, but I decided to check it out anyway. I went during my lunch time – big mistake! The fish tacos were delicious, but it took over a half hour to get them. I had to swallow one and take the other to go. Mind you, I was the only one there, with the exception of one guy having a beer at the bar. The server was very nice and friendly, but I asked for water and she forgot to bring it. Again, I was the only one eating.

There was a nice breeze & atmosphere, but don’t go if you’re in a rush…

Great place to go especially if you like being around water, boats and seaplanes and may I dare say in this day and age, beautiful ladies and handsome guys like myself if you’re the opposite sex! I especially enjoy it when my friends are there or there is a lively group of friendly people! I really enjoy it when they have live bands playing good music! The food is very good and appropriately priced and the bartenders and host are courteous and polite. If you’re a regular they pretty much learn your routine even if it’s a little odd like me enjoying a spiked cold brew coffee when I first arrive! I like to chill and enjoy life! Kalua is definitely my go to place but I do enjoy checking out other places around Tavares and Winter Garden FL so I included a couple photos of me at other places also. Friday’s and weekends are definitely more likely especially with the awesome weather lately. In summary you should have a great time if you enjoy being around other people and if you have a bad time it’s most likely your own fault! If you see me there say hello because I enjoy meeting people! Peace!

From I’d couldn’t compare ,, to it’s nextdoor neighbor ( Puddle Jumpers ) For A Grouper dish it had no taste . This is a thick cut of a fish. When you start cutting it up all you get is the Batter & grease it’s fried in . You lost the flavor of Grouper. Serve it Properly or raise your prices to give a decent Grouper Basket . But for 17.99 you’re not going to get repeat customers. You’ll get more write ups like this . 4 of us . 80.00
For a Meal that would , Will leave you with less customers.

Draw a crowd but we realized they weren’t eating . .. Too late . Oh & no Customer should have to track down a waitress to order food . That should of been the first Clue we were in for a Bad meal. I’m a State Licensed Salon Inspector. I’ve half a mind to

Sat down at outside picnic table. Waited about 5 minutes for no service. Went up to the bar to get menus and double check that they have wait staff that will come to the table, they confirmed they do. Was on. Wednesday at around 4:00pm so not busy. Still no wait staff after another 10 minutes. Not even an acknowledgment. But the staff behind the bar seemed to be having a great time. Don’t waste your time or money going here.
