Don’t let the modest décor fool you — Kalm Bistro is a find. This hidden spot, tucked away in Gray, Tennessee, is the kind of place that deserves to put a town on the map.
The kitchen delivers food of genuinely remarkable quality. The menu leans Asian-fusion, and everything I tried was excellent. The pho was rich and aromatic, the California roll was fresh, the kimchi had great flavor and balance, the spring rolls came with a zesty peanut sauce (tương đậu phộng), and the Boba tea was refreshing. Even the water they brought to the table tasted clean and bottled — a small detail, but it tells you something about how they approach the dining experience.
It’s rare to find this level of care and quality in the Appalachians, and they deserve credit for it. If you’re anywhere nearby, Kalm Bistro is absolutely worth seeking out.

Me and my husband were both overworked from this past weekend and were craving comfort food, we got their soup and shared a Johnson Sushi roll (not pictured because I forgot to take a picture of it ) Everything was absolutely delicious! We also had Thai Teas. We will definitely be back to try my things as this was our first time here and now I feel silly for not coming to try this place sooner!!

Wonderful Pho, better than The Roots and Thai Cuisine. So good I came back the next day to repeat.
Their Kalmbination Pho (attached picture) comes with slices of eye of round, flank steak, brisket, Vietnamese meat ball, beef tendon and tripe (optional). With all of the assorted vegetable toppings, it makes for a wonderful Pho!

A gem of a restaurant- my new favorite in the area. Very quick and attentive service and delicious food! I love that they have a vegetarian/vegan section on their menu. And lovely boba tea ❤️ The restaurant itself is very cute and cozy. We got banh mi, pan fried ramen, and tofu pho. Can’t wait to try the rest of their menu!

I ordered this for the first time with Door Dash…I had never eat here before and I moved here from a larger city that had a legendary Vietnamese restaurant. Once you’ve had top level Vietnamese, you’ll never settle for anything less. Over the years since I’ve been here…a couple of places have popped up and closed. I was always disappointed. Until I discovered this place…you….need…to…..go. Just. Go. Everything was packaged excellent for delivery and I practically inhaled everything I ordered. Portions were generous and the prices were more than reasonable for the quality. I cannot wait to go in person and try more of their menu. We are BLESSED to have such a high quality restaurant in this area. Well done!!!
