We had ‘take-out lunch’ Saturday afternoon the woman who took my order was friendly & offered explanations…mixed reviews about the food. My son & daughter loved the pork, super burrito . I liked my steak, super burrito but for $11.99 (decent size, cut in 1/2) it could contain more ingredients. There were chips (deep fried) & 2 kinds of salsa, tasty! My wife’s Camerones.soup was fairly good, yet a bit greasy. Service = 5 *, food = 3.5 *, price = 3*. Recommend a visit if you’re on the San Pablo Dam Rd. 🙂

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Kaliente, a delightful Salvadoran restaurant that serves an array of mouthwatering dishes, including their famous Pupusas. From the moment I stepped inside, I was transported to El Salvador, surrounded by warm hospitality and the irresistible aroma of traditional cuisine.
The highlight of my visit was undoubtedly the Pupusas. These handmade corn tortillas filled with savory ingredients such as cheese, beans, and succulent meats were simply superb. The balance of flavors and the perfect texture of the Pupusas were a testament to the culinary mastery at Kaliente. Each bite was a delightful explosion of taste that left me craving more.
While the Pupusas stole the show, the menu at Kaliente offers an extensive selection of other delectable dishes that should not be missed. From the fragrant and robustly seasoned tamales to the flavorful yuca frita and plantains, every item showcases the authentic flavors of Salvadoran cuisine.
The service at Kaliente was impeccable, with a friendly and attentive staff that made me feel like a cherished guest. They were more than happy to provide recommendations and share their knowledge of the dishes, ensuring that my dining experience was nothing short of extraordinary.
The ambiance of the restaurant was cozy and inviting, with tasteful Salvadoran decor that added to the overall charm. Whether you’re seeking a casual lunch or a memorable dinner, Kaliente’s relaxed atmosphere is the perfect setting to enjoy the rich tapestry of Salvadoran flavors.

Clean, gently lit and with attentive service. Generous dish of chips and salsa. I had the roasted vegetable salad with cilantro vinaigrette which was delicious and large (enough for 2?) Reasonably priced.

Fresh, tasty food! Quality experience every time. One wish…more size for the super burrito, I mean it’s called “super” lol. Bottom line if you want to satisfy your hunger this is a delicious opportunity with a really good variety of some home cooking! I definitely recommend the Kaliente Burger it’s always cooked to perfection, moist, juicy and chock full of flowers! No need for sauce just a pure burger The taco salad and the papusas are well done too

Stopped here for lunch on the way back to Sacramento from San Francisco. They have Mexican and Salvadoran influences so be prepared to not recognize some menu items. That said, I had the fish tacos – very tasty. I didn’t like that the fish was breaded but it still treated very good. My wife had the chicken quesadilla which she thought was excellent. Service was slow but the food was worth the wait. The staff was friendly and the dining area and bathrooms were clean.

Very friendly atmosphere. TVs for games. (Sports) or they may even change it to what you want to watch. Good food, clean establishment. Service is great. They serve wine and beer. And have a kids menu. Burritos are huge two people can share them. Take out also.

Came in on New Year’s Day because our normal go-to place was closed…and so glad we did! I wanted breakfast so i had the Chorizo and eggs, they were perfect. The potatoes were what really surprised me: it’s hard to find really good fried potatoes: crispy on the outside but fluffy on the inside:) The coffee was great, which is also a nice surprise. Service was so friendly and accommodating. Well definitely be back.
