Kalia Cafe has made changes this year to its previous mother cafe, cafe @ la plage. We have spruced up the interior and created a new food menu that now allows you lunch options. We have kept our coffee strong with our beautiful Maui Oma blends, and added a few house lemonades to our menu. We still have the breakfast bagel & the sugar beach breakfast croissant, along with our new Bubble Waffles, a Bacon + egg + cheese French toast sandwich, breakfast pita burrito, quiche Lorraine, chili & rice bowl, patty melt, grilled cheese and tomato soup too! We have mini blueberry coffee cake loaves & banana macadamia nut bread by our friends @happyopu We’re a casual takeout cafe w/ inside & outdoor seating. Come have coffee w/ us 🙂 -kalia cafe

Cozy cafe in an oceanside strip mall featuring Maui Oma espresso, plus breakfast & lunch.

Bagels and drinks were great. The quality of the drinks were very well made and delicious. It didnt taste like they were powdered drinks. The Signature coffee was strong and bold. The blended drink was tremendously flavorful and any fruit drink enthusiasts would enjoy it.

Service was great. The employees were nice and welcoming and helpful!

Parking is very tight. if you have a big truck or van, youre basically taking an entire spot and it will be difficult to get out of the car if you the parking lot is full. it is shared with other businesses.

To the People commenting the high cost, remember that you’re in Maui and in Kihei. If you want to experience the authentic Maui experience of food, do more research and you can find the food youre looking for.

Stopped here for breakfast on a rainy day and it was packed. There is limited seating indoors but we were able to grab a table. We both got bagel breakfast sandwiches which come with a side of potatoes and they were pretty good. The chai latte was also good. When it gets busy, you do feel a bit rushed to vacate the seats just to be courteous so others can sit so I wouldn’t say this is a slow morning spot

It was difficult finding open spots on a new year morning and we were grateful that this spot was open. We ordered two english muffins – one with egg and cheddar cheese, and another with turkey, egg and cheddar cheese. They tasted okay but were warm and fresh. They came with fried potatoes – which didn’t look very appetizing and were only seasoned with sea salt. We ended up not finishing them. We got cappuccino and iced coffee as well. We didn’t end up liking it much either. I would assume a slow day being the reason and would hit this place again in future.

Great service and fresh breakfast sandwiches. Coffee is very good too! We had hot latte and iced mocha. Plenty of seating inside and out. It was nice to just have a normal size breakfast (sandwich).

We visited Kali Café in Kihei. The location is nice, the staff is really friendly, and they open early, which is convenient. The coffee was just okay. We tried the bubble waffles, but they were just okay too, probably not something we’d order again.

I also tried the Acai and coconut parfait, which was good. We ordered the bacon egg cheddar sandwich and the bacon egg cheddar bagel sandwich, both were good. We also asked for a croissant with cream cheese, but they forgot the cream cheese, and we didn’t go back to fix it.

Overall, it’s a nice spot.

Personally, I had a great experience. The staff was polite, kind and patient. Maria is awesome. The bagels and coffee were solid. The place was clean and had cute decor and even sold some fairly priced Knick knacks. Would definitely recommend if you’re in the area.

This cafe is awesome! There is a few shelves of locally made jewelry, jam and butter. The menu is good with many options.

I ordered the white rock and sausage, it was delicious.

My girlfriend ordered the Pa’ia bagel, she said it was amazing!

The staff made an impression that I will remember. A local walked in and asked me to wave to his friend behind the counter. It was a funny encounter that I will remember.

I spent $30 on breakfast and coffee here and when a bite of bagel went down slow as I tried to swallow, I asked for a cup of water. The cashier says, “I can’t give you water. we have bottled water for purchase.” When i looked visibly shocked she told me she could sell me a cup of tap water for 79 cents. “For the cost of the cup” …. she said.

This level of greed, this lack of community care, is uncommon on the island.

Spend your money elsewhere. Gross.

Edit to add: look at their reply!! as if they don’t have a filtered water tap to make their coffee and teas. OR… they don’t and they’re making drinks with “unpredictable” water.

Zero stars!!! If you’re greedy just say that!

First of all, I really have to mention the very nice staff! It was a pleasure to get in touch with the waitress.
Unfortunately, the rest of our experience was not meeting our expectations by far. Maybe we are spoiled and used to something different but the quality of the bagels as well as the taste were very disappointing. The potatoes, which come as a side, are squishy and tasteless too. The espresso I had was not drinkable. My partner liked the Almond Mocha, she had ordered, due to the taste of marzipan, though.
All in all a very disappointing visit, especially if you consider the prices. Very sad as the staff is super friendly.

Very friendly efficient staff. They have the most flakey croissant. Great iced chai latte. Great quick breakfast before heading back to the airport!
