Was searching for a late date night…on a cold and rainy Saturday… immediately when I stepped in In knew this spot was the one and the right choice. The lighting was perfect and the layout was fabulous. I don’t like tables…I like lounge chairs and booth. It was crowded at all which was surprising but judging by the photos I guess It can be packed but coming from ATL this place would be packed and no seating on a Saturday night with a DJ! Lol But it was the perfect atmosphere for a date. The music was good, not too loud to where you can’t have a convo. Would be nice if some of these places in Arlington could spin some 90s R&B or 2000’s neo-soul but the music definitely reflecting the setting. I noticed it also the perfect spot to hang out with co-workers, or friends/family. I saw some college students bring a board game in there and they had some drinks and food. Also, I noticed there is a dedicated area where you can plug up your laptop because I saw a few gentleman chilling on their devices. You have to seat yourself which is what I like and we had a serve, a Hispanic guy, don’t remember his name but he was good and chill. They also have a bar area as well. I didn’t see any location but I guess judging from the pics there’s an upstairs rooftop area as well. The place is pretty spacious and we had no issues finding a seat. The food menu is pretty good, typical prices for this area. I paid like $12 for some crab cakes, they were good but very small, like the size of doughnut minis so wasn’t too happy but overall it was good and I had the vegetable medley, I forget what my date ordered. I don’t know if they host events here but it has the atmosphere to where you can see them hosting poetry events, speed dating or even maybe an open mic comedy night on different occasions. But the current business model I guess works for them. But I would definitely come again and plan too… it’s like a hidden gem from me I could see them expanding this concept to other cities and hiking up the pricrs but I’m an entrepreneur so this is just me thinking out loud. Lol But from now on I need to start taking more videos.

We have been consistently coming for Saturday morning breakfast for almost a year now, and never had an issue with the food or service. By this point I have tried every item on their breakfast menu. Highly recommend the new breakfast sandwiches under $10 and their lattes! Ordering via QR code is super convenient by table. Seats do fill up quickly as the morning goes on so recommend coming in earlier than later.

We went there last week .We found a cockroach near the beer area while we were sitting at the bar. A few minutes later, we noticed that one of the staff members was handling and cutting fruit without wearing gloves, which was very concerning for hygiene.

The steak was too salty, and the meatballs were okay but nothing special.

The worst part was that when they were placing the food on the counter for the servers to pick up, we saw another cockroach on the counter, right next to the dishes. This clearly shows they need urgent pest control and better sanitation practices.

Unfortunately, because of all this, our experience was not good and we didn’t feel safe eating here.

*Update*

Manager Sean called to apologize for losing me as customer. No mention of coaching or development opportunity for the staff, even a store credit to attempt to make things remotely right. ‍♀️

*Writing this review and sharing photos because staff refuse to give managers info*

I’m writing this review to express my shock and disappointment after my recent visit to Kaldis – Arlington, a place I frequent for both business meetings and personal meals. I have enjoyed the food and service, but this particular experience was so disrespectful and unacceptable.

Today, I ordered three meals and three cortados. After a 20-minute wait, our food arrived, but the drinks were delayed and came out in a paper cup. When I politely requested that the cortados be remade in ceramic mugs, the staff member informed me it would take another 15-20 minutes, and we agreed to wait.

When the drinks finally arrived in ceramic mugs, they were cold and didn’t resemble cortado at all. When I inquired if this was indeed our order, the staff member rudely told me it was the only mug available and then stormed away, showing a complete lack of respect.

I took the drinks to the bar to request a remake since they looked like watery lattes rather than cortados and it was cold. The bartender responded in a nasty manner, stating they didn’t have cortado glasses and implied it was my fault for requesting a ceramic mug, saying it had been sitting there for a while. (They didn’t remake it, they poured the old drinks that have not been sitting for 25min into a ceramic cups)

When I asked for the names of the staff and the manager’s contact information, they refused to provide any names, forcing me to share photos instead. As someone who spends between $50-$250 every visit at this establishment, I was shocked by the disrespectful behavior and lack of customer service.

After being humiliated and embarrassed publicly. I’m requesting a refund for the coffee and tip due to the poor service. I hope management/ownership team takes this feedback seriously, as I believe they would not support the behavior of their staff in this instance.

Kaldi Espresso martini is horrible. Watered down bourbon with milk, nasty
Vibes are very good and lots of tables to sit at. Dark ambiance and they section it off later on (working long table, half private tables for work, half private tables no computers allowed). And they don’t serve coffee in the evenings so that was sad

I’ve loved Kaldi’s Social House for years. It’s been one of my favorite coffee shops in town and a genuinely welcoming “third place” where you could meet friends, read, or work independently without feeling rushed or pressured. The daytime experience is still great and hasn’t changed, and I really appreciate that.

What’s disappointing is the new evening policy. Moving to sit-down service where you’re required to order alcohol or food changes the entire atmosphere. Part of what made Kaldi’s special was that you could grab coffee or tea at any time of day and enjoy the space casually. Now, if you visit in the evening, it feels like you’re expected to participate in a restaurant or bar experience.

Personally, I’m not a fan of the current food menu, but previously I could at least order a non-alcoholic drink and still enjoy the space. With the new structure, it feels like there’s pressure to order alcohol if you’re not eating — which takes away from what made Kaldi’s such a comfortable, inclusive spot.

The redesign looks great, and I understand businesses evolve. I just hope management considers broadening the evening menu or offering more non-alcoholic options so longtime customers who loved the casual coffeehouse vibe don’t feel pushed away.

The coffee really is VERY good. They do eggs VERY well — probably the best poached egg I have ever had (see pics). Some people just know what they are doing. Sandwich was also good — the add on side salad was worth it. Potatoes were good too. Modern environs— cool vibe — congenial staff. Priced right.

Had an amazing dinner at Kaldi Social House! The vibe is cozy yet modern, perfect for both coffee and cocktails. I tried the 8oz Blackened Salmon Filet with pomme purée, potatoes, broccolini, and lime compound butter — absolutely delicious. The Blood Orange Cosmo was refreshing, and their Espresso Martini with Baileys is a must-try. Huge thanks to Sean and Darnell for the wonderful hospitality. Highly recommend checking this spot out if you’re in the Arlington area!

We just had our Sunday breakfast here, and we are delighted.
Over the years, we’ve come to Kaldi’s for occasional breakfast, which has always been satisfactory, including today’s breakfast.

At today’s visit, we noticed that the menu had improved a lot with lots of choices. The breakfast Burrito was so good, not overpowering with sauce, but there was a pleasant subtle saltiness from the potatoes; the tortilla was slightly toasted and added warmth to the dish, and the salad on the side had enough but not too many dressings on it, which was nice. Chicken & Waffles were tasty; the chicken was freshly fried and crunch outside with a slight sauce drizzled on top with a hint of sweetness, and the corn waffles had a kick to them from diced jalapeños. The latte was strong, and the staff provided additional whole milk to reduce acidity. The seasonal Honey Pistachio Latte, with orange zest, was refreshing but felt like something other than a caffeinated drink. For dessert, we had a marble pound cake, which turned out to be a bit dry but still tasty and good quality.

As always, we enjoyed the ambiance. The seating options were varied, and our choice was comfortable and cozy. The place was clean, tidy, inviting, and the large windows were perfect for people-watching. Overall, we were satisfied with the service.

It can get really packed and finding a spot for two people can be rather challenging, but has some good food and drinks to offer. Service is a little weird as there isn’t anyone walking around dedicated, but you may have to go to front for things at times.
