A small and quaint restaurant. The service was polite. They instructed everyone to order and pay at the counter. The sashimi salad was fresh with a kick of wasabi. My daughter enjoyed her chicken katsu.

The sushi at Kakuna was fresh, generous in portion, and delicious. The restaurant itself is very small and not particularly great to dine at, but the service was pleasant and there’s plenty of parking if you decide to eat there. I probably will do what most people do – order out – next time I go. You know a place is good when there’s a steady stream of people coming in on a Monday night to pick up orders!

I regret having to leave this review, but I believe that my feedback might be helpful for the owner to make improvements. While the presentation of my order was satisfactory, the taste unfortunately wasn’t up to par. The sushi roll covered with cheese was overly salty to an extreme level. This is not just a matter of taste preference–excessive saltiness can lead to health issues like high blood pressure. I hope this critique will be taken into consideration for future improvement

Checked this place out because of the great reviews. Got a bento for takeout – grilled pork belly, sashimi, and veggie tempura. Everything was tasty and well cooked. The gyoza was also surprisingly delicious. The sashimi was fresh and melt-in-your mouth good. The tempura retained its light crispiness even after a 15 minute wait in its sealed plastic container (boooooooo on the plastic!). The staff were super polite and friendly. Only complaint is they forgot to put the tempura sauce in my bag, and I bet that would have put the tempura over the top. Kinda bummed about that, but I’m still giving them 5 stars because everything else was on point.
