First thing first, the sushi is really fresh. We got the toro, salmon belly, and the yellowtail belly. Saba is a little fishy. The rice is a bit mushy but good enough.

The cooked food is not as great. The agedashi tofu has too much breading and taste average. Kaiju tar tar is okayyy.

The service however took forever, and they never come to check up on us. Servers reach over to get dishes for other tables. Maybe they are short staffed but they should still handle us probably.

I finally found a legit Japanese Fish restaurant in the San Fernando Valley after Maya sushi changed its ownership. The quality of fish is incredibly stellar and the taste is superb. The rich flavor of the salmon the the crisp flavor of the yellowtail and the sweetness of the Sweet Shrimp is memorable. The fact that the chef fries the head of the sweet shrimp is wonderful. Paying more for the prime selection of the sashimi is definitely worth the price. The thickness of the fish is spot on and their fried food items are tasty.

Where has this place been all my life? This is the place to go for great sushi. This is the place to recommend with confidence to your freinds. This is the classic ” I know a little place..”. Sooooo good!

We eat sushi at least once a week and wanted to try somewhere new outside our standard haunts. We were sorry we did. First, there was a horrific sewer smell when you entered the restaurant. At that point my husband and I questioned if we should be seated, but since we drove a distance to dine and had reservations, we checked in. We ordered basic Japanese dishes – edamame, miso soup and a few sushi pieces to try to decide if we would stay. The ginger and wasabi were served on the table prior to the delivery of food. The ginger was brown and hard, certainly not fresh. And that was just the beginning. The miso soup and garlic edamame were inedible. (The photo is what the edamame was drowning in). The edamame was severely undercooked, and therefore difficult to eat. The miso soup had a strange flavor. The hand roll seaweed was gooey, not crisp, and not wrapped properly so the majority of the spicy tuna landed on the floor. The other pieces of sushi were just ok. We made reservations at our favorite standby and left. We’re not sure how this restaurant has the good reviews that it has. We could just assume that it was a one-off experience. But given the lack of cleanliness (the menu had stains all over it), the rank smell of the place, the lack of freshness of the fish, and the server who couldn’t pronounce the various types of sushi, we determined that this restaurant just didn’t meet our expectations for a good sushi dining experience even though it may satisfy other diners’ expectations.

I recently visited an exceptional Japanese restaurant that truly stands out. The sushi was incredibly fresh and delicious, offering a high-quality dining experience that is hard to find elsewhere. The fish was extremely fresh, and the overall ambiance was top-notch. Highly recommended!

The Atmosphere was very warm and welcoming, and the waitresses were very friendly, outgoing, and knowledgeable about the menu. The food was out of this world, well at least the ones we got and if you are a sushi lover you should check them out. The price was also very great for the quality and taste of the food.

The Sakura rolls are really good. Chirashi bowl is fresh, there are eight pieces of sashimi in it, good value.

I ordered takeout. Food was ok. Rice was very dense, fish texture was a bit firm. I always say you can judge the spot by the nigiri. And those were under expectations. Fish could have been fresher and tastier

Really yummy spot! I loved the options they had in the menu, everything was very fresh, and the staff was super friendly and helpful. The price was really great too. Their parking area is small and street parking is hard, lots of no parking zones and the busy streets nearby are packed. Took me some time to find it. Overall great place. I’d definitely go again!
