Sitting in my hotel room, looking through google maps and deciding what to eat, I thank God that I decided to come here. At the time, there weren’t too many reviews so I was really taking a chance. One of the best decisions of my life, for real. Looking at the reviews now, I am so happy to see the place is doing well with some people saying this is the best buffet in NYC. I haven’t been to many buffets in the city but this is definitely my favorite buffet of all time as a buffet connoisseur, to the point where I am considering planning a trip to NY to go back. It was so good, that yes, I went back the next day for lunch. And yes, it was worth it.
The service was wonderful, as was the food and atmosphere. My favorites were the coconut shrimp, soft shell crab, salt and pepper chicken, crab Rangoon, and browned Cajun butter. They also had whole lobsters but it’s really saying something about the food quality that I didn’t even get the chance to reach for one. Had to save room for some tasty cooking!
I could go on and on but you have to try it for yourself. I may update with a more detailed review but I sense it is already long.
Kaijin, I love you!
This company is so much better than the last spot that was here.
Went to lunch with my grandmother today.
Walking in it looks peaceful and calming. We were greeted right away and led to our table, with drink orders taken before our server even walked away. I’ve been to plenty seafood buffets before and the one thing lots of people look for is the Crab Legs and you can never find any, I found full trays as soon I walked to the line. The variety of food they had was great. From cold crab legs to hot Crab Boil: Cajun Crab legs, about 3-4 different variations of shrimp, crispy fried chicken, fried fish, lo-mien, fried rice, steak and so much more. The Salt & Pepper Crabs were top notch. On top of eating all the delicious food (yes everything was flavorful and tasty. No complaints on taste. except grandma said the food temp wasn’t hot enough for her) we finished off with a dessert from my childhood. I used to grab these Banjo bars from my corner store all the time.
The staff was on point. Our table never got overcrowded with plates because they were on their A game.
I’m already planning to bring my mom and sister back to partake in the experience.
I hope this restaurant sticks around longer than the last spot
EDIT: Came back with moms and sis and was able to get my Lobster!!!! Woohoooo party!!!
They enjoyed themselves and the food.
As before the food was still delicious and the staff great.
On Friday we had Queenie as our Server and Today we had Rita. Both ladies were excellent. Very observant and attentive to our needs.
Now let’s talk about the food—because wow. I went after seeing a video on social media, and trust me, it lived up to the hype. They had whole lobsters, king crab legs, lamb chops, steak, shrimp, and just about everything you could think of. Not small portions either—real, full pieces. The buffet is not “little” by any means; it’s big, well stocked, and impressive.
There was so much food that I honestly didn’t even have room for dessert, which never happens to me. I usually travel all the way to Brooklyn for a buffet like this, but now I don’t have to. This location is much closer to home, and that alone makes it a win.
On top of that, the staff was kind, attentive, and welcoming, which really adds to the experience.
Overall, this place is definitely worth checking out. If you love seafood and a good buffet, Kaijin Buffet is a must. I’ll absolutely be back. ️✨
