Kai Japanese Restaurant is one of our favorite go to places when we are in the area. The staff are always very friendly, welcoming and attentive. The seafood always tastes really fresh, and the value to portion ratio in on point. Thank you for another great experience.

We were worry when we parked outside the restaurant that they had close early as there wasnt much people and activity going on. There was only 1 other customer sat down so I thought we went to the wrong highly rated restaurant. As soon I tasted the food that night (it was excellent btw), we knew we got the right one and we keep on ordering more, and more. So safe to say we will be coming back when we are the area again. 🙂

Some of the best sashimi I’ve ever had, coupled with really good noodle and rice dishes. The unagi don was especially good, and of course the salmon and tuna sashimi were excellent. I’d also recommend their soup dishes, the miso soup and ramen were so tasty and fulfilling. I’d definitely come again, especially for a date ❤️❤️

I would like to start off with the atmosphere, which has so family vibes. Server was okay although she was sleepy in a way. Food was good, had a good taste and I think it was a bit too much on sauces which make the sushi a bit soggy.
Overall food was pretty decent. Love ❤️ their green tea.

This Japanese restaurant has beautifully plated lunch and dinner sets with an assortment of dishes included as part of the set meal allowing you to get great variety with your meal. We tried the dinner set A and it was fantastic as it came with miso soup, a special role that was delicious with a refreshing fruity salsa like mixture on top, well fried assorted tempura, salad, ebi sunomono, salmon and tuna sashimi, assorted nigiri, and oshi. It’s a little bit of everything, but added together, a lot of delicious food leaving you very full.
We also ordered the oyster motoyaki that was well baked and in huge shells which was pleasantly creamy and what oyster motoyaki should be.

I usually don’t post any reviews but when I entered the restaurant, the atmosphere was nice. The food was great, and the service was excellent. Our server, Yun-min, was very polite and friendly.

One of my 3 go-to sushi spots in PoCo. Friendly staff, very attentive and welcoming. Food is delicious. Top notch. Busy lunches on weekends so come early. It is consistently very good in every aspect. Definitely worth a visit!!

I have gone to Kai since they opened and have always had a very positive experience when there. Today, I ordered take out and I was extremely disappointed in my order. I ordered a Chicken Teriyaki Lunch Box, the chicken was dry, overcooked with hardly any teriyaki sauce, the “veggies” looked like they were from a frozen bag of carrots and beans…and potatoes. Very little rice with the meal, and the tempura was overcooked.
Hoping that today was a one off, and they will improve on this part of their business, but I will not order take out from them again, I will however go back for a sit in meal, which has always been fantastic.
