My family and I went to Kai Eats + Drinks for dinner one day and had a pretty good experience! Food and drinks were good.

Many members of my party ordered pizza and they said it was delicious. Another person ordered gluten free calamari and said it was amazing!

One thing to note, happy hour is bar side only so keep that in mind!

It’s a beautifully located restaurant with great interiors and friendly staff. Customer service is great with the servers checking in consistently andaking sure all is good. The restaurant is on the beach offering great views from your table.

Given this, we were kind of disappointed with food options available for vegetarians with no options to add a side of veggies to the build your own pasta which is basically just pasta and sauce. The salad we ordered was good. We ordered the only vegetable pizza that was available – margherita pizza what ch came in cold so not sure how it should have tasted but was very disappointed.

The dining area and bar was fun and lively with nice views. Focaccia served before the meal was drenched in butter. The lobster with pasta and cheese was bland but the veggies that came with it was very good. The entrees were good sized portions. Osso bucco was very tasty as was the fish. The drinks were flavorful and well made. The parking garage adjacent has ridiculously small spaces and the ramp to go in will scrape your car bottom if it is long (minivan). Make sure that you give your car license plate to the host for 2 hour validation.

Easy the largest beer selection on the island that we found. Great service and you can watch your food prepared. The meatball sub is seriously good. Top quality. Dont skip it.

Spaghetti bolognese also very good. It was even great the next day.

Place is legit. I love this pizza not the best I’ve ever had but it’s top 5! The crust though is the best I’ve ever had. Third time here still love my experience! Jessica was the best server tonight!

Kai was an absolutely fantastic experience from start to finish. We had the kampachi and kanpachi appetizer to start, followed by the ono piccata, and finished the night with the Kona coffee cheesecake and every dish was cooked perfectly and full of flavor.

The fish was incredibly fresh and prepared beautifully. The ono piccata was tender, flaky, and balanced perfectly with the sauce. The Kona coffee cheesecake was the perfect finish to the evening, rich, smooth, and not overly sweet.

The atmosphere is fabulous. Even though it was pouring rain when we went, sitting out on the patio was still spectacular. The space is well covered, and we didn’t get wet at all, which made the experience even more enjoyable.

They also have a robust beer selection, which is a great bonus. Overall, an amazing dining experience. We’ll absolutely be back!

Our favorite spot for a drink when we visited Kona. Great vibe, amazing view. Food was delicious. Especially pizza with pesto, shrimp, mushrooms and onion. One of the best we have ever. Lots of draft beer. Staff friendly, they shared what is good to see on the Island. Must go when in Kona. Great place to just grab a drink or for romantic night.

Food was good, but nothing amazing. We got the coconut shrimp, fish and chips, and Baja fish tacos. Fish and chips portion was huge (4 big pieces of fish)

The view was very good, we were seated next to the water.

Beautiful restaurant and bar located right on the water!
Very nice atmosphere and a favorite for breakfast.
Soothing sounds of ocean, great food, it’s a win win.
We were treated to a nice show of spinner dolphins playing right off coast the last time.
Definitely Island Style.
Plus validation for the parking!

I feel somewhat conflicted writing this review, but I’m doing my best to keep it objective. From the moment I made the reservation through the end of the evening, the experience was seamless. The service stood out – warm, attentive, and genuinely welcoming from the hosts at the door to the final check-in at the table.
The cocktails were excellent. Hugo’s Mai Tai and the Coconut Mai Tai were both well-crafted, flavorful, and easily highlights of the night.

Unfortunately, the food did not meet the same standard. At $38, the baked lobster penne fell short of expectations. The dish lacked depth and seasoning, and the vegetables tasted as though they were previously frozen or canned, which was disappointing given the price point.

Overall: a beautiful view, strong cocktails, and exceptional service – but food that did not reflect the quality or pricing of the rest of the experience.
