Loved this place! The food was rich, bold, and full of flavor, tasting both authentic and comforting. The drinks were really good and unique! And the music and ambiance made it such a fun spot to be in. The staff was super friendly and made us feel so welcome. Can’t wait to come back again soon!
The food is knockout, I think the rest will have to catch up.
The interior is absolutely gorgeous from the decorations and the glassware to the cutlery. I think that alone sets it apart from Indian restaurants in Huntington and a lot of Long Island. We were a bit cold, it was a cold night outside, and I guess the temperature didn’t regulate very well indoors. The music, although fun and nice, was also a bit too loud.
The food was phenomenal we got the skirt steak with the mango masala curry, butter chicken, and the lamb in Kashmiri curry along with some naan. The skirt steak was my favorite and maybe one of the best Indian dishes I’ve ever had but the other entrees were also super tasty. Biggest complaint with the food is they give too little rice. I got a $40 steak give me a nice cup of rice to enjoy that curry! Also, the food took over an hour to come out, which is a bit too long for my liking.
The drinks were a big hit or miss. I got to taste 5 cocktails total. I loved the Chaitini, I think I would walk into the bar just to have one of those. I liked the one that had rose and the Kahani. I didn’t love the saffron don, it tasted a bit watery, a bit too sweet, and almost like a cough drop as a drink. My friend got the Nimbu Pani (recommended by our waiter) and it was honestly terrible. It smelled really bad and tasted even worse. We had to send it back, but the manager was super friendly and apologetic about it.
Our waitress Jen was friendly, but a bit all over the place. She was a bit confusing and inattentive and hard to reach and talk to. I think she may have blazed a bit too close to the sun that night. Another man who seemed to be the manager or owner was super friendly and attentive and made us feel very welcome.
All in all I think the have something special with their menu, but need to iron out the rest of the kinks. I can’t wait to come back and have my mind changed to give it that extra star because I haven’t stopped thinking about that steak curry since I left.
Kahani Restaurant truly knows how to make guests feel special. The hosting is top-notch—warm, welcoming, and incredibly attentive from the moment you arrive. Owners are special and greet every guest. The ambience is beautiful, with a perfect blend of elegance and make you feel like you are in NYC.
Their drinks are outstanding! Creative, flavorful, and crafted with real skill—each one feels like a masterpiece. Whether you’re in the mood for something refreshing or something bold, Kahani’s bar team delivers every time. Nimbu pain and Spicy ️ Margs were fire.
Overall, a phenomenal experience. Highly recommended for anyone looking for great vibes, amazing hospitality, and exceptional drinks! Lamb chops, shrimps and dum biryani are a must try.
