This restaurant has been one of my favorites, and I have dined here more than ten times with consistently positive experiences. Unfortunately, during my most recent visit, I was very disappointed and will likely not return.
Our bill totaled $70, and our order was not prepared as requested. We ordered a shrimp meal and a chicken meal, both with fried rice. Each meal was supposed to include rice, but instead, noodles were added. I asked the cook who the noodles were for, as we did not order them, yet they were still placed on our plates.
The noodles were tasteless and gummy, which disrupted the entire meal. I was only able to eat the shrimp, and my guest could only eat the chicken. If the restaurant had run out of rice or needed to substitute, this should have been communicated beforehand. Customers should be given the option to decline substitutions rather than having them added without consent.

Great experience. Our server was super cool. Plenty of food and seasoned and served well. We had the private room that serves up to 40, I believe. Would recommend. Just make sure that your whole group sits together at the same table if you are paying or you will have to do separate tickets.

I took my 9 year old Granddaughter to dinner, just the 2 of us. We didn’t have to wait for a table. Our chef was very talented with his tricks, and he cooked our food just right. My Granddaughter had hibachi chicken with an added side of scallops. I had hibachi scallops. The prices were about the same as other Japanese Hibachi Restaurants I have been to, but we were given more pre entree dishes. We were given the clear broth with mushrooms and green onions in it, a salad with ginger dressing, 2 hibachi shrimp, and a helping of hibachi egg noodles. Our waitress refilled our drinks when they began to get low. Everyone was friendly and very helpful. My 9 year old Granddaughter said, “Grandma, I wish I could have him as my private chef”……talking about our cook of course. I would recommend Kabuto over any other local Japanese Hibachi Restaurants. I know I will be returning when I want Hibachi again. The only downfall for me is that an 18% gratuity is applied to everyone’s bill. Of course our chef deserved that and more. If I had gotten one who did not, I would have been rather upset. Of course too, there was a spot to add extra gratuity.

We genuinely looked forward to dinner here tonight. We were sat at our table by 4:45. At 6:30 we were still waiting for our cook to come make our meal. No drink refills. No offer of appetizers. No waiter! After multiple complaints from separate diners at our hibachi table to different people who claimed to be manager, and multiple promises of “5 more minutes” – we left without dinner. One of the worst customer service experiences of my life.

There was no ventilation in the separate room that they put us in for the birthday party so it was really smoky. We had all the children sit at one table for the birthday party. All the adults were at a different table. They are unable to combine the bills because the bills are based on the seating so the parents had separate bills to pay. My salmon was cooked a little longer than I would’ve preferred and the tricks were limited.

Restaurant was cold. Had to keep my coat on while I ate. Food was lukewarm and didn’t taste fresh. Service was horrible. Had a 1:30 reservation for 12 people. Staff kept telling us the restaurant was closing at 2pm for them to get ready for dinner service at 4:30pm and rushed us to eat and leave. Won’t be back.

Kabuto is a nice spot with great service, and the overall experience was enjoyable. The ambiance is pleasant, making it a good place for a night out with friends or family. Our chef really stood out – he was friendly, engaging, and made the meal entertaining with his cooking skills and interaction. The staff, in general, were attentive and made sure everything ran smoothly throughout the evening.
That said, while the food was tasty and well-prepared, the portion sizes were a bit underwhelming for the price. It feels a bit on the expensive side given how much food you actually get. For the amount spent, we expected either larger servings or a little more variety on the plate.
Though the experience was enjoyable, the price-to-portion ratio is something to consider. Because of that, I probably won’t be rushing back anytime soon, but I can definitely see myself returning in the future for another fun night out. If you’re looking for a good teppanyaki experience with excellent service and don’t mind spending a bit more, Kabuto is worth a visit. Just be prepared that it may not feel like the best value for what you pay.

While the food was good and atmosphere as well, and even the wait staff and chefs were excellent, the customer service rating suffers because of management, Ian.
We had a party of 14 to celebrate two birthdays and the power went out and never came back on. While this wasn’t his fault, the way that he handled things after was the issue. He proceeded to have food cook (without power) and then tells us at the end that they had no way of taking payment but cash. The whole block was out of power. He also proceeded to speak with staff and telling them that “we just have to figure it out.” He even wanted us to write our credit card information down to run later. In 2025, when scammers are running rampant?!
I’m disappointed in the disposition he carried then and with us until mention of reviews and safety came up. I hope that after this time of losing power, he takes from this experience that he needs a better system or better yet back up electronic method to take funds and choose how he speaks of his customers when he thinks they aren’t around better. Hats off to his staff though. They were awesome, polite and of great service.

All around good experience great food great service. Precy but worse than worth the money. Everyone that we interacted with went over and above went the extra mile to ensure that we were taken care of our allergies were addressed that servers were very attentive.
