The food was absolutely incredible. Overpriced for what you get though. Find a similar style restaurant not in Cary and you can probably save $15 per person.
Our cook was amazing and provided an amazing experience. Our server disappeared for a while.
They were very accommodating for a seafood allergy by cooking the shrimp last.

For the first time eating here I didn’t have a great opening experience. The hostess had their back turned to the counter and never saw me waiting until someone walked up and told them.
When ordering my food, the waitress claimed that the price difference between the two steak options was $10 due to outdated menus, which wasn’t even close to what it showed. The Filet Mignon was $31.99 and the Rib Eye was about $4 less. Either this was the waitresses first day on the job or they were trying to up charge me a lot by claiming the menu prices were outdated. After I was about to walk out for false advertising, she confirmed the prices in the menu were actually correct.
In writing this review I’m comparing this restaurant to Sapporo in Greensboro, NC, which is a much larger city than Cary, so you would expect Sapporo to have higher prices. But this is the exact opposite. Kabuki is extremely over priced for what you get. With the Hibachi options you only get either a salad or a soup, but not both. In addition to this, you get fried rice and a mix of onions, zucchini and mushrooms. However, for $5 less at Sapporo for the same meal, you get both soup and salad, along with 2 shrimp and grilled pineapple, making Sapporo a much better value.
The atmosphere can be very noisy with the shows they put on while cooking and due to the large groups of people at each table that often talk very loudly to be heard. The decor was very nice however and the place looked clean for the most part.
The chef was very nice and put on a wonderfully skilled show and was the best part of the experience. He also took the time to get to know the people he was cooking for with conversation and friendliness. All of the food was very good and filling and you will likely have leftovers from the large portions. I only sat at a table with 3 people, but I think they may can accommodate 8 or more at a single cooking station. So I’m not sure if the portions you receive diminish with more people or if they adjust and add more sides based on the number of customers.
While the experience over the menu prices was off putting, the waitress did check in on me regularly and overall had good service.
Because of the high prices, a meal for one was over $40 with a tip, compared to what you get, I don’t think I’ll return again as I can just as easily go to Kanki in the Crabtree Valley Mall nearby, which has a nicer place to shop next door compared to the tiny shopping center that Kabuki is located in. Not only that, but the Hibachi Steak is only $18.99 at Kanki and tastes just as good, so you get a much cheaper meal in just as nice a restaurant.

Came close to close and they were still very friendly and welcoming. Sat at the bar service was quick and delicious. I love it here! Will be back

There to celebrate my cousin’s birthday. Our waiter and chef were good. The food is just OK. They seem to use low quality rice and pasta which is a large part of the meal. The fellowship and the food prep “show” was good. I only eat at places like this when someone invites me. Not in my regular rotation. I gave my leftovers to family who were not there.

Ignore the negative reviews below, some people can just never be satisfied with anything. We went last Tuesday night so we weren’t expecting any wait time which there wasn’t any. The wait staff was quick and excellent overall. All of the chefs in the room were full of energy any made it an awesome experience overall. The people complaining that the chefs make a mess must never have gone to hibachi before. Of course the chefs are throwing food around to keep you engaged and clearly that might make a mess, get over it. The portion sizes were huge and everyone i saw in the room had a to go box. The food was great overall and even heated up great for left overs. I was a little skeptical about going after reading recent reviews, but it made me realize that we would experience places for ourselves

Warning if you have allergies!!! The service was NOT worth the money you’re paying! From the first moment we walked in for our reservation, the young guy at the host table was very rude and snarky when we checked in. Would HIGHLY recommend management take a look into training their employees in customer service, all the employees we encountered lack customer service skills. The waiter never introduced himself and was very rude. One person in our party has an allergy to shellfish and asked politely for a substitute for the shrimp appetizer that comes with the hibachi, the waiter said they don’t accommodate to allergies for substitutes. Our party member asked to have it noted they are allergic to shellfish and the waiter huffed & didn’t acknowledge our party member. They did end up noting it but a warning to those who have allergies- not sure if they don’t accommodate to all allergies or if was just this waiter. Our cook was decent, again did not introduce himself. He was the nicest person we encountered but wouldn’t say he was nice. He was very messy but the food tasted good. The prices were high in our opinions & especially with the service we were given. If a party of 5 pays over $220 for entrées & 1 sushi roll to share, your service better be better than it was. Also beware, they state on their menus “20% gratuity will be included for all parties of five or more. Gratuities are shared equally between the server & the chef.” but they will also list on the bill percentages of tip you can add. It would be easy to double tip if you aren’t paying attention. A sneaky way to get more money with crappy service.

We come here all the time and have come for multiple year’s for birthdays and special occasions. Everything is always great except for our visit today where they sat our large family down and only had one spot left at the end. 10 minutes later the waiter comes and tells me to move so they can sit a couple (as I am as on the end). Our table was pretty fine in space until they sat the couple in which it became very cramped and uncomfortable being leg to leg. Looking at the reviews it seems they’re just trying to mash everyone in because of the bad reviews on time and that it was busy at the time of our visit.

Being my first time here, I love it. Not everyone has the same experience but I will say mine was great. Now I do have a small tiny complain which was my appetizer, we order Krab Rangoon, which are my favorites but I was a bit disappointed in them, because they didn’t taste fresh, they felt like they were kinda chewy, hard to bite. But besides that the rest was good. I have the chefs Bobby, he was amazing. This was the first hibachi I’ve been to that has been great, the food was great, it was much more than I expected. I love it. The waiter was amazing I just didn’t get his name. But I gave it a 5 because besides the appetizer everything else was Excellent. I will definitely be back. I ate the land and sea, plus added shrimps definitely recommend it.

Our server and chef were totally fine. But Overall food was not very good. Tempura was terrible no flavor just tastes like oil and the dipping sauce tasted weird. Sushi was not bad. Main meal was somehow lacking flavor everything rice noodles veg and chicken just tasted dull even cooked with lots of sauce. Was expecting white sauce, not orange mayonnaise paprika sauce, it did not taste good. I wish I could get my money back and go somewhere else for my special occasion.

If you are going to tell someone it’ll be a 45 minute wait for dinner, and after 45 minutes you keep saying 5 more minutes until it’s almost an hour later…. I’ll never dine here. We waited 1 hour and 45 minutes before giving up – the older man at desk was like “oh well, we got behind”. You need to be honest with your wait times if you want to keep customers. Never got to try the food.
