I like that they have korean and japanese options. Lots of rolls to choose from. I think the roll is more worth the price than the sashimi. My mom wanted sashimi but it was 4$ a pc. Like one small square slice. The roll was around 6-7$ and u get 6pcs with rice so that looks more reasonable.

There were free korean banchans. Kimchi, jangajji.

The chicken katsu had a good serving. It was 2 big pork katsu cut into strips, with some Veggies, spaghetti, and rice so you’re definitely filled for the price.

Kalbi soup was pretty big too. Good for sharing.

Came with friends on a chilly day and the restaurant was almost closing, but the staff were still so kind and accommodating. The food was warm, flavorful, and perfect for the cold weather. We really appreciated their hospitality. We’ll be back for sure!

My wife of 15 years is Korean & she gave this place a thumbs up. I found it rather enjoyable too. IMHO it’s one of the better eateries around. High quality of side dishes and a decent array of both Japanese & Korean.

I used to like this restaurant. Soft tofu soup was my favorite. We (3 of us) went to the restaurant yesterday (Friday. Jan 24, 2026). We ordered 3 soft tofu soups (1 medium Seafood and 2 mild Originals), 1 seafood pancake and 1 Grilled Mackerel. We didn’t wait long. But here are what we got:
1. The pancake was good.
2. The Grilled Mackerel was over cooked but I don’t want to complain about it.
3. In stead of 3 seafood soups, we got 1 “seafood” and 2 “original“. There were couple tiny pieces of squid meat and a few shrimp tentacles(no shrimp) in the “seafood” soft tofu soup. The “Original” soup tastes odd. The meat in the soup was not what we usually got. They look and taste very strange. I feel that they might from other leftover dish. I didn’t want to complain so I just picked all the meat out before eating.

It was a terrible experience. It was a dinner with friends. Nobody wanted to complain about food till the end. So there was no picture to prove it. But I did told the waitress when she came to clean the table. I showed her the meat I picked out.

We will never go back to this restaurant.
This is my first time to complain a restaurant.

Owners and staff were not very hospitable, the service was very slow and they were concerned more about us leaving before 10pm when they closed then they were taking care of the customer. I ordered a second cocktail at 9:55 pm and they refused our service because they were closing, I stated i wouldn’t have ordered it at 9:55 if the server returned to our table to schein on us!! Yet she still refused, not to mention they had a broken refrigerator next to our booth that kept screaming and making noises and it sounded like a car crashing every 15 minutes… not very pleasing… the overall experience was terrible And there are way many other sushi, restaurants that have better service and better quality sushi that I will be returning to. I will not be going back to kabuki.

One of my favorite places to get sushi. The restaurant has a great atmosphere and very kind staff. To this day, every food item I’ve ordered here has been the highest quality I’ve eaten anywhere. As someone who eats a lot of sushi, this is the highest praise I can give.

It’s been a few years since we’ve been back here. The last visit left a sour taste in our mouths, but we decided to give it another try. The food was decent overall — the udon and certain sushi rolls were good, except for the chicken teriyaki roll.
The biggest disappointment was when my wife ordered a spicy tofu soup. We waited about 40 minutes, and the waitress kept saying it would be out soon. We eventually canceled the dish before it arrived. The service was unapologetically slow.
Probably won’t be returning anytime soon

I had ordered thier shrimp tempura and spice ramen. I was served only 2 pieces shrimp tempura along with a few veggies. The ramen felt like it was packet noodles.

I do not think I will be visiting the restaurant again.

Absolutely love Kabuki Japanese Restaurant in Farmington Hills! The sushi is always fresh, beautifully presented, and full of flavor. Our server Naya made the experience even better — super polite, attentive, and helpful with great recommendations. Cozy atmosphere, excellent service, and some of the best Japanese food in Farmington Hills. Highly recommend!

The kalbi and serrano roll are both so good. The spicy jelly is really good on sushi rolls as well. Love this spot.
