Lovely experience here! There’s a grocery store when you walk in but when you veer to the right it’s a cute little restaurant with a clean and spacious dining area. The employees were so friendly and gladly explained the food options. It’s like cafeteria style dining. Get a tray, choose your food from a buffet type and they serve you. If you get a plate it comes with rice and then you chose the 2 or 3 entrees. Love their chicken curry. It’s hearty and the chicken is cooked bone-in for maximum flavor. The meat just falls off the bone. Also got the pork skewer- yum. If you’re adventurous try the veggie mix with bitter gourd- bitter melon. Tastes great and they say it’s good for you! Mmmm will be back. Ask there’s a karaoke stage…sounds like it may be a fun spot in the evenings!

This place has a good vibe, small place but the service staff is very attentive, positive and energetic. We stumbled upon this place and had a small cafe feel, with plac for live music too . We ordered halo halo and felt it was good for our liking, we did try a bit of pork BBQ, and felt it needed a little bit of seasoning. The pork empanada , I didn’t expect it to have a sweet side to it, but it was fine . I would give a 5 star for the wait staff. Surely a ‘will come again’ place .

I was surprised by the great service at this restaurant as the man running the store checked on us a few times to make sure that everything was ok. The place was a bit old but was clean and nice. The food was just amazing, especially the pork bellies and everything tasted awesome and truly changed my mind about Filipino food. It was surely an eye opening experience for me and I would not hesitate to recommend anyone to try this place out.

My family’s first time trying Filipino food on Mother’s Day and we had the amazing Bilao platter and mixed pancit with cassava cake and halo halo. Everything was incredible and we almost ate ourselves sick! I’m so baffled as to why there’s Thai food places on every corner but we have to drive so far to get Filipino food when it’s so incredible and in my opinion way better than Thai food. We couldn’t get enough and the leftovers that we did have were gone in a day and we were fighting over them!

Kabayan is a cafeteria-style cafe, when we first walked in, we noticed a karaoke stage. Shortly after, someone began singing which really added to the experience.
My partner and I shared a double platter (steamed white rice + 2 entrees); we chose chicken adobo and crispy bbq pork. We both really enjoyed and left full & satisfied.

What can I say about this place. Everything seems so fresh and the flavors are not what I’m use to but, wow so good!!! The service at this place is second to none. I ordered a few things and they let me try some other things. Don’t miss out. Come and give this place a try and you won’t be disappointed. Filipino food and it’s very authentic. Happy I stepped out of my comfort zone!!!! Just wow!!! Noel made me feel like I was part of their family.

It was a while that we had Filipino food that we thought we should try out another Filipino restaurant in town. And so we stopped by Kabayan. Located in Lewisville, this place is pretty much a hole in the wall and is attached to their market.

As soon as we walked in, there was karaoke going on. This is the hallmark of an authentic Filipino restaurant. Luckily, there were seats available since we went during memorial weekend. The service when we ordered food was good and they were very friendly. You can tell that this is a family business. I ordered the bbq pork skewer and my wife ordered the pork sisi. The skewer was good but the onion that was used in the sisi completely overwhelmed the dish. As a side, I got a portion of their equivalent of collard greens. It was good. However, the real star of the show was their flan which they sold in their fridge in the back. Damn! It was thick and creamy (yep! That’s what she said). I should bought some to-go!!

Overall, it was an interesting experience but probably won’t be coming back…unless we’re in the area and are craving the flan lol.

Becareful when you purchase the over priced the food. They tell you your price and add an additional tip without saying anything. She told be total due was $15.13. After coming home I realized she scammed me by adding tip for no reason. The credit card machine didnt even ask me it just said scan or swipe. I know they are over worked and probably underpaid but stealing from your people is terrible. Why would I tip for ordering something? I did my part walked up to the counter, she wasnt my waitress. Terrible. Straight terrible. Many people can not afford to even shop there but now you just gave me a reason not to. To make matters worst my friends who also go there said they have tricked too. They are too shy to say anything.

My first time visiting Kabayan with my parents was a Filipino delight. With live Karaoke, Authentic Filipino Food, and small cafe dining, I was carried away to PI. Recommend for those with craving the entire Filipino dining experience or to take out and enjoy at home.

BEST Filipino Restaurant in town, hands down!!!
Great tasty authentic food and service! I’m here 1-2 times a week. They open their doors at 10am, very convenient when you’re working the morning shifts. And guys they’re only 10mins away from the dfw airport which is also a bonus!
