We ordered a chicken koobideh and lamb skewer, rice and mast o khiar. It was all really good. Ordered the lamb skewer medium rare and it was perfect.
The Persian tea was really nice. A bit different with a bit more of an earl grey flavor, which I love.
Definitely going back to try the game hen and other things.
Glad to have a nice Persian place in marin.
The koobideh was yellow inside, probably because they used too much turmeric. It was salty and didn’t smell like koobideh at all.
The rice was plain kateh, ugly, with extremely poor presentation and no saffron. I don’t understand why there was so much oil pooled under the koobideh.
The joojeh also tasted like it had been marinated at the very last minute.
For an Iranian who truly knows Iranian food, even giving this meal a score of one would be too generous.
The food here is delicious though my regular falafel salad seems to have become a little less dense in leafy green mass the last time I went. Still tasted great though.
I highly recommend the herbs and feta cheese or the Kashk-E-Bademjan for appetizers. For entrees, all of it is super good. I especially enjoy their grilled tomatoes.
The service here is great. My only complaint would be that the young lady that is the waitress there seemed kind of in a bad mood and moved in a bit of an anxious manner that was a bit quick. Her friendliness felt fake and as a previous waitress, I totally get it but I think success comes from being able to fake it to the point where people think you are genuinely in a good mood and happy even if you’re not. But other than that she got orders right, was attentive to the table and seemed to work really hard. I noticed she kept correcting the cooks too. So I think she’s overall great, maybe it was an off day.
In short: great food, good service, true Mediterranean/Persian flavors and food. My family will always be back.
The salad had a light lemon olive oil dressing that was perfect.
The chicken was moist and delicious. The kubideh was well-seasoned and tender. Plenty of rice.
We also got some hummus as an appetizer and loved that as well, although we did wish for a bit more bread with it. Thankfully some came with our Family meal so we were able to finish all the hummus.
We sat outside on the small, shaded patio and they had a high chair for our toddler. The waitress was super nice and helpful the whole time.
We’ll definitely be back here for Persian food!
