Corn Fry
This one is a must‑try. Crispy, flavorful, and seasoned just right. It’s the kind of starter that makes you look around the table and say, “Okay… if this is the beginning, we’re in for a ride.”
Afghani Soy Chaap
A total standout. Soft, smoky, and beautifully marinated. It has that rich Afghani-style creaminess without feeling heavy. If you’re a chaap fan, this will hit the spot.
Veg Keema Biryani
Honestly, this was the surprise hero. Aromatic, layered, and packed with flavor. The texture of the veg keema blends so well with the rice that you almost forget it’s vegetarian. Absolutely awesome.
Desserts: Kulfi & Badam Halwa
A sweet finish done right. The kulfi was refreshing and creamy, while the badam halwa brought that warm, nutty richness that wraps up the meal perfectly.
Overall, Kara Modern delivers a memorable experience with dishes that feel both comforting and elevated.
One of the best breads I had in a long time—the paneer-stuffed kulcha was outstanding. And 555 chicken biryani was
awesome !
The staff were friendly and attentive. Every time they passed our table, they made sure our water was refilled, and they were always available when we needed them.
Beautiful ambience and excellent service (our table was served by Leela)
Highly recommend!
Every food item was served hot and fresh with the exact spice level we ordered. The meats were soft & the flavors and taste were amazing, except for the butter roti. Supposed to be soft, the butter roti was a bit crunchy. The Shrimp Pepper Fry was super yummy.
Our host/waiter, Leela, was polite and welcoming throughout.
Wows:
Ambience – hard to beat for any nearby Indian restaurant.
Service – seemed understaffed, but every item arrived promptly.
Food – Indian flavors without compromising authenticity.
Oops (not complaints):
1. We’re not sure whether we got Vijayawada biryani (the ordered item) or Chicken 65 biryani. We raised that concern to our waiter, but it went unaddressed. Never mind, the biryani was good.
2. Main plates could have been bigger.
We made our reservations for 1:45 PM, 45 minutes prior to restaurant closing, and we are not sure walk-ins will be seated quickly during prime time.
A bit pricey, but truly justified with a premium dine-in experience. Definitely worth visiting once in a while and for special occasions in the Triangle area.

Here is why you need to order the Chilli Garlic Naan and the Andhra Curry:
The Chilli Garlic Naan: A Masterclass in Dough
This isn’t just a side dish; it’s a centerpiece. The naan is perfectly blistered in the tandoor—pillowy and soft on the inside with just the right amount of crisp on the edges. What sets it apart is the generous topping of fresh minced garlic and spicy green chillies. It provides a punchy, aromatic heat that wakes up your palate without overpowering it. It is, quite simply, the perfect vessel for scooping up every last drop of sauce.
The Andhra Curry: Bold, Spicy, and Brilliant
For those who crave authentic, deep flavors, the Andhra Curry is a revelation. True to its regional roots, it’s beautifully spiced and incredibly fragrant. The gravy is rich and complex, balancing a sharp heat with a savory depth that lingers. Whether you get it with tender meat or vegetables, the quality of the ingredients shines through. It’s the kind of dish that makes you sweat a little—in the best way possible—and keeps you coming back for “just one more bite.”
The Verdict
The pairing of the spicy, garlicky naan with the robust Andhra Curry is a match made in culinary heaven. If you appreciate bold spices and authentic techniques, Kaara is delivering some of the best Indian flavors in the area
