Over 20 years ago, our founder Josh Vach visited the coast of California. He went with a desire to find the perfect wave and enjoy the amazing authentic Mexican food that California has to offer. When he returned, Josh set out on a new adventure to bring those same authentic Baja flavors to his coastal home in North Carolina. Fueled by his life changing trip, K38 Baja Grill, which was named after his favorite surfing spot at the Km marker 38 in Baja, was born. Today, we continue to nurture and respect the love and passion that Josh put into his restaurant through our food and atmosphere in the hopes that you too can experience what our founder found so special about Baja, California.

I went in yesterday and had lunch at the bar. I believe the bartender told me his name was Declan, but he was friendly, attentive, and made the whole experience really enjoyable. He checked in at all the right times and made me feel genuinely welcomed. I come from a little further away but the good conversations, drinks, and food were definitely worth the drive! Great service can really make a place stand out, and this was a perfect example. I will definitely be back! Thank you!

I was here recently with family and we had great time! The tacos came out AMAZING, only I found out I don’t like cojita cheese Natasha is 10/10. Best service! She asked what we needed, checked on us frequently, and everything came out fresh! She made our little girl’s birthday so special I give this place 5 stars!!

Great! Your food is the best! Even though my 96yo mother said her food was cold, the rest of us had warm food (not hot) and didn’t mind a bit! Your queso is something we crave often. We each have our favorite dishes, but love your guacamole equally well! One improvement I suggest is to find a way to keep the food warmer for to-go orders. That’s the only thing I’d like to change!

Sara at the bar was very attentive and made the visit fun. We had 1/2 price fajitas and $3 Dos XX which is a great deal and very tasty. The atmosphere is nice with garage door open to the patio. I’ve been on a Monday as well for $4 Baja fish tacos & $4 wannabe margaritas, which were also outstanding. I will definitely be back next week

I came in the other night with my friend and we had the literal best server! Haley was amazing and gave absolutely wonderful service. She was attentive, kind, and all the food was delicious. Def will be back:)

We came around 7pm, there was a 15-30 minute wait for a table but the bar was open so we sat there. The bartender was super nice and took our order quickly. The pomegranate margarita was very delicious! Our food was good too but the portions are a little smaller than you’d expect. If you fill up on the chips and salsa it’s okay.

Was initially concerned with price of a taco but what a bite. They were absolutely delicious. Was not a fan of the plain white rice as a side but overall a tasty experience. Oh yeah they had a pickle Rita!… Skip the tajin imo.
